21st June 1978

Robin pov

I shyly waited at our regular meeting spot, the treehouse. I was wearing causal jeans and a normal tank top. This was my first time being on a date. I couldn't believe that I actually had to ask my sister for advice.

I set up the treehouse nicely, cooked a little meal, and even bought two presents for Finney. He was special to me, so I wanted to get something he found special to him.

"Knock knock, Robin." Finney was finally here. He looked so beautiful to me. I softly smiled and offered him a seat.

"I actually got you 2 presents. I hope you like it, amor." I passed Finney his gifts. I really wanted to be with him and to make him happy.

Finney pov

Robin passed me two presents. He didn't have to do anything, I would have been happy even without the gifts. I was still very grateful for the gifts and opened them up.

One present had a drawing of the galaxy and the planets, Robin knew me too well to know that I am basically in love with space and astronauts.

The next gift had a picture frame with an astronaut figurine sitting on top. The frame had a galaxy on it with a small rocket painted in one of the corners of the frame. I loved all of the gifts! It looked like before I came, Robin took the time to customize the gifts. He did it in such a short time. Maybe he planned it even before he asked me.

I hugged him and we began playing some board games that he had in his treehouse. Monopoly to uno to even some games I had never heard of before. We ate while playing some of the games.

It was now evening, Robin went to one of the corners of the treehouse and took out an electric guitar that had been placed in a black bag.

"I practised this song because this is my favourite song and you are my favourite person." He confessed. I looked at him with bright eyes and motioned for him to start playing.

*Robin starts playing 'me and your mama'*

(Fun fact Robin's actor did actually play this song on his tiktok page, which is like the only reason why I picked this song for him to play even though it wasn't made in 1978)

3rd person pov

After the song, Finney gave Robin an applause.
"Hey Robin? This has the best date that I have ever had, and one of the reasons is because I am with you." Finney assured to Robin, he didn't want Robin to overthink after the date.

Robin then brought Finney back to his house, where Finney gave Robin a peck on the cheek and went into the house. Robin's face turned red, and he got more butterflies in his stomach. He smiled as he walked back home.

"Finney. Where did you go?" Finney's father asked sternly. He reeked of alcohol. Finney assumed he would just get scolded for not telling his father where he went.

"I went to Robin's house." Finney told the truth. His dad scoffed.
"Are you gay or something? Why do you always hang out with that Robin guy?" Finney's dad questioned.
"He is my only friend, dad." Finney answered. Finney then went to his room and displayed the gifts that Robin had given him that day.

(The next day)

3rd person pov

Finney was waiting for Robin at the gate, where he was pulled to a secluded corner. He realised it was Matty with Buzzkil and Matty's name doppelganger.

Finney rolled his eyes.
"What do you want?" Finney scoffed.
"We know your secret f*g." Matty revealed. Finney's face dropped in realisation.
"You kissed Robin. Heh. Nobody would've guessed that he was gay as well." Matty went on.
"He might not be and just pitying and using this loser." Matt added.

The gang laughed as Finney looked down at the ground and began to tear up. He was going to get Robin in trouble.

"Hey."

Finney looked up to see Robin staring at the trio.
"The only two untrue things you said in that whole claim are that ,one, I am just pitying Finney and using him. The other untrue thing is that Finney is a loser." Robin veins looked like they were about to pop as he held back his anger and urge to swing at them already.

"Let's go." Robin pulled Finney up. Giving the trio a death stare before dragging Finney away from them.

"You don't need to explain anything, I heard what they said. It's not your fault, amor." Robin was good with comforting Finney. He knew what to say and was always considerate of Finney's feelings.

Finney couldn't name everything that he loved about Robin. There were too many good qualities of Robin. There was too much to say.

"I want to go on another date today. Just right after school. Let's go to the treehouse again." Finney suggested. Robin smiled at Finney and nodded as they headed to class.
