Finney pov

I can not believe that I actually asked Robin on a second date. I guess it was just the heat of the moment and all the emotions I was feeling when everything happened.

The date was set. After school at the treehouse.

(TIME SKIP TO BEFORE DATE)

Finney pov

Robin and I climbed up the ladder and started eating and playing board games.
Until we heard laughter come from below the treehouse.

Robin stepped outside and looked over from the balcony. I tagged along behind him.

"OH LOOK! IT'S THE TWO F*GS." Buzz revealed. Oh my gosh. Why couldn't they just leave us alone?
"HEY F*GS ARE YOU ON A DATE?" Matt added. Matty and his gang snickered.

Matty raised his hands with a camera in his hand. *snap* A bright flash suddenly appeared. Robin and I looked over the balcony again, but the gang was gone.

We cut the date short that day.

23rd June 1978

The next day at school, I could hear whispers all around the school. Then I saw it. Pictures of me and Robin together at the treehouse. Under the pictures was writing saying that we were dating f*gs and that we were on a date when the picture was taken. Half of it was not wrong, but this was bad.

Most of the school was homophobic.
Whispers in the hallway. I could make out what some of the students were saying.

"I never expected Robin to be gay."
"This is repulsive."
"It shouldn't be allowed."

So many homophobic slurs and comments. I ran to the bathroom and hid a bathroom stall. Even then, I kept hearing the whispers and comments whenever people would walk in the bathroom. Tears welled up in my eyes and fell down my cheeks. I didn't there go out of the bathroom.

I skipped most of the classes that day. Robin and I went to his house after school.

Robin pov

Those pieces of shits. Spreading gossip about Finney and I. I could only imagine how Finney must have felt at that moment. I was worried about him. He was so quiet so far when he would have been talking if it was a normal day.

"You know... I don't think it's the worst thing that could have happened." I tried cheering Finney up. Hoping he wouldn't take it the wrong way.
"You know how fast these topics spread. Soon, parents in the neighbourhood will know. Then, my father might hear about it at his work." Finney started sobbing. I rushed over to hug him and I kissed his forehead.

He looked at me with those tear filled eyes. He still looked beautiful even when he was sad.

I picked up some courage and kissed him on the lips. 3 seconds into the kiss, I kissed him even deeper and held his waist. He kissed back and it lasted for another minute.

"I love you, amor. Would you like to become MI amor instead." I confessed to him. Trying to make my confession funny too so that it would brighten his mood a little. I was holding him, basically hugging him.
