You were absolutely exhausted.

Honestly, you thought you'd be able to sleep well, guess that thought was wrong. Mayhaps it's because of the restless nights you have spent the time in this AU.

Hearing the creaking of the stairs, you perk up and look over to the stairway. (F/N)'s hair was like a bird's nest. They were brushing through it with a comb, becoming more and more frustrated at their failing attempts to unknot their hair.

"..Do you need any help?" You ask, (F/N) glanced at you and a tiny grin appeared on their lips.

"You can start off by making some coffee, no decaf." They mumbled the last part, you nodded.

Watching them go on auto pilot, you headed for the kitchen. Dust have been gathering up on certain parts of the apartment, you should probably help them clean.

Lifting the lid, you poured the warm water into the coffee maker's water windows, and grabbed a table spoon. Searching for the grinded coffee beans, (F/N) came with a neater hairstyle and struggling with their work outfit.

They were making sandwiches for breakfast, you turned your attention back to the coffee.

"Do you want milk in it?" You asked, (F/N) gave a muffled yes.

You turned the coffee maker from off to on, you placed the glass decanter under the dispenser. And opted to watch (F/N) make their sandwiches and lunch.

Glancing at their phone, it was already nine am. They'd be leaving around 9:45 am.

Neatly packing some snacks into a paper bag, (F/N) patted (Y/N) on the shoulder.

"I'll be getting off earlier tonight, some of my co-workers finally decided to do their shifts. Or at least they should be today." They sighed, and smiled at you again. Their eyes were full of lethargy.

You only nodded, (F/N) handed over their water bottle.

"You can use this to pour in the coffee, I brought a water bottle."

"Okay." Popping open the top, you carefully poured the coffee in and shuffled to the fridge for the milk. Ignoring the eyes on your back.

Twisting the cap off, you poured the milk in and stirred it with the spoon. Pushing the top back on, you gave (F/N) their coffee-filled bottle.

They gave you a wry smile, and you gave them an awkward attempt at a hug, you were incredibly tall after all. (F/N) only reached up your chest, and they were seemingly taller than the usual humans.

They shivered in your hold, wondering how the hell you were so cold.

You still can't believe that you have lived with a human for a month now. Rent free, and you didn't even bother to interact or make sure they were okay.

You feel guilty. (F/N) looked so tired.

They shoved some fruits into their mouth, and they were off.

Watching their car disappear down the roads, you sigh. Straightening your posture, you decided to clean up some parts of the apartment and return before (F/N) came home.

Home, what a complicated concept to swallow.

But you're here, you live here. Home feels like warmth, comfort and happiness. Did it not? Guess your home now.

Pulling up your sleeves, you try and ignore the scars on your pale arms. Preventable accidents.

Dampening a rag, you wipe over the counters and surfaces. Gingerly placing any kitchen utensils needed to be washed in the sink.

Washing the rag, you grab a spray bottle filled with soapy water. You sprayed and wiped over tables and cabinets. Placing the spray bottle onto a coffee table, you head back into the kitchen to wash the dishes.

It was around noon when you finally finished cleaning the apartment, you didn't see obvious change. Expect the fact you had moved all stolen items into your void.

To say, you didn't know how the void was now a comfortable temperature, perhaps it was because of your status?

Noclipping into Outertale, you made sure you'd come back before the evening to make dinner. (F/N) doesn't eat dinner, saying something about personal experiences.

You're still going to make dinner, just a small fruit salad with a singular soft pretzel bread. You actually had to pay for that.

It wasn't your money. Not (F/N)'s either.

Moving towards the edge, anyone watching you without context would've assumed that you were trying to end yourself. The aura surrounding you were full of bliss.

Hearing the crackle of rocks, you whipped your head around to see three skeletons trying to sneak up on you. The fuck?

The yellow one sheepishly smiled at you, you groaned lightly.

What is it now?

"Hello, My name's Dream." Dream said, and gestured towards the blue one.

"I'M SWAP!" You grimaced at his loud voice, however only nodding along. The skeleton you ran into last time you were here stared at you.

"I'm Ink, I think I saw you before...hm." He mumbles, you shrug. Cold sweat ran down your neck.

"We're here to inquire about your, habits." You brought your attention on Dream, they're asking you to repent for your sins aren't they?

"About how I steal stuff? No you cannot inquire about that topic." You stated before attempting to noclip.

Keyword, attempt.

Ink had restrained you with paint, you harshly fell onto the ground. Ink pointed the comically large broom at your mask.

"Not so fast buddy!" His smile widened, you scowled in response. "We don't need ya runnin' off now!"

You felt so pathetically vulnerable. You still had to get back to (F/N).

"Okay, OKAY! I'll talk, just let me go." You spat, the three skeletons only exchanged a look.

"We can't do that, for all we could know, you'd just try and run off again." Dream had a point.

"Who said I still couldn't?" You gave them a wicked 'smile' behind your mask. And you fell through the floor, leaving Ink immensely confused and the other two flabbergasted.

Great, now you have to deal with untangling yourself from the paint. Better hurry before (F/N) comes back, because you know for sure this'll take a long time.

Sudden knocking broke your train of thought, you stared at the front door in shallow horror.
