Milli, Andy, Giovanni, Liz, Peter, Rodolf and Sasha sat on the chairs in the dining room formed in a circle. Milli suspected that something violent may have happened so she had told Barb and her friend to go play outside. Peter volunteered Liz to speak in hopes that Milli would be calmer if someone who wasn't her kid told her what had happened. Liz narrated most of the events of the past two days. Peter and Sasha added what had happened before Liz' arrival and Liz and Sasha improvised on some of the details of the attacks. They left out the first attacker and Sasha tried to make the scene with the potential black-hole seem less intense. When they were done, Milli was in a state of shock for a couple of minutes. She was in shock about the attack, about having been unconscious while it happened and about the possibility of having died. They remained silent while Milli processed everything.
Milli said, "I should have been awake. I should have been there for you. I'm really proud of you for coming back here to make sure we were all right and for your attempts to help. I'm not happy about the part where you were fighting but I'm glad you stuck together and weren't hurt."
Rodolf let Milli finish and said, "Yeah, this dream sucks. I'm going to try to wake up. Not here though."
Giovanni responded, "This isn't a dream."
"Of course. 'Cause this makes sense. A magical bacteria that knocks out homo sapien-blooded people. And then, there's the part that makes even less sense where the one who broke my heart brings me into his house and into his bed instead of leaving me outside. Oh yeah, this is obviously real life. ... I'm hoping it isn't 'cause I'm regretting that second part."
Giovanni repeated, "It's not a dream. And you're welcome. Who knows what could happened to you outside while those people raided neighbourhoods."
"'Cause you care? So what? That means put me in your bed? You couldn't just shove me in someone's basement?" replied Rodolf.
Giovanni shrugged.
"What's going on here?" asked Milli.
Sasha replied, "Sexual tension."
Andy added, "Lots of it."
Before Giovanni or Rodolf could comment, Georgia walked in.
Rodolf sat back down sighing, "Okay, this isn't a dream if she's here."
Giovanni quietly joked, "More like a nightmare then."
Rodolf smirked. He asked everyone, "So what does this mean? Can I leave since I don't live here or it isn't safe?"
Liz answered, "That's the problem. We don't know. There hasn't been any reports from officials claiming to have solved whatever happened. I think it would be best if we all stuck together. Mostly in case your being awake is temporary. We don't want Giovanni launching a search party for you. I'm going to check on my parents by phone and stick around in case something else happens."
Georgia finally spoke as Liz left the room. "Why did I wake up in the park?"
Andy answered, "That's what happens after a good night out, man."
Georgia looked at him confused. Milli stood up, walked over to her and brought her into the kitchen. She sat Georgia down at the small kitchen table and told her that there had been some weird bacteria. When asked about the dining room table, Milli told her that Sasha had passed out on it and broken it. She knew that Georgia chose to remain naive about certain things so she avoided bringing up that some of her kids weren't completely of the same species as the two of them.
Victor and Stephanie stepped into the other dimension and came face to face with the alternate Victor, two other men and one woman. One of the men wore black pants with a black shirt and a dark grey blazer, which had several badges pinned to it. He appeared to be in his sixties.
The older man stepped forward and said, "Finally. We've been waiting for you."
"But how?" exclaimed Victor as the other two moved towards him and Stephanie.
They wore grey uniforms with black blotches. Victor held onto the container with one arm, grabbed Stephanie with the other and teleported them out of there.
"What the hell was that!" shouted the older man.
The other Victor exclaimed, "I'm sorry, General, I had no idea. I've only been able to teleport objects. I've never been able to teleport myself."
The blonde woman in her thirties stepped between the two of them before the general could take out his anger on the other Victor. "Sir," she said, "I can see where they'll be soon. We can catch them there. This time, we'll be prepared."
The general replied, "Excellent, Veronica. Go tell the driver where we're heading. Even though their attack will fail, I will not let their attempt go unpunished."
