I admit, your heroism is admirable, but this is just ridiculous.

The ride was bumpy and the tiny metal link jingled in between the two kids as they rode hill after hill. The luggage that stood in piles before them shook and swayed, hiding their unwanted presence from the work men's scrutinizing eyes.

Calls were shouted out and the heavy scent of smoke arose somewhere in the air, natural, yet out of place.

The driver of the luggage cart grunted with every bump made contact with and he cursed as his hot coffee spilled on him and innumerable amount of times.

And Abbeline couldn't help but giggle at it. Eden's calm eyes landed on her and he smiled inwardly, before realizing that this girl had kept him prisoner. And his mind went blank again as he rested his forehead on a large duffel bag.

"Time to get off," whispered Abbeline shortly afterwards.

Groggy but alert, he slid his feet off the side and jumped off as he collided with the ground. Abbeline rushed towards an empty, idle luggage cart and hid behind it, pulling a helpless Eden behind her.

She scanned the area as Eden lightly swayed.

So what if we do reach Paris? What then? I don't even know where he IS in there. What's the use of all of this? Thought Eden.

He glances at Abbeline and saw something...different in her. She placed her hand on her forehead to shield herself from the sudden attack of sunlight that reigned upon them. For the few seconds he looked at her, he let his problems dissolve and he invited the adventure that forced its way into his world. Invited her forceful and reckless personality to collide with his own introverted, overly cautious one.

Then again, I have nothing to lose. Except myself.

His eyes shifted to the cuff that linked him to the girl before him and his invitation pulled itself back.

He smirked. I'm DEFINITELY going to lose myself. He decided he had had enough. Realistically and logically speaking, it would be a waste of time. He could be doing something useful with his life. Did he even know how to start from the scraps he's been left with that he refers to as his life?

He blinked and reached to tap Abbeline on her shoulders when suddenly, she shrieked and ducked.

"What the..." started Eden until her hands clamped around his arm and brought him down with her. His backpack slumped onto the floor as he steadied himself.

"Shut UP, fool!" she whispered hurriedly as she peeked from the side of the cart. She pulled herself back to the shadows just as another pair appeared beside her.

A large police officer came striding along with a short, thin man. The thin man sneezed and he quickly quickly pulled out a folded handkerchief from his suit pocket. The police officer coughed and fixed the collar of his uniform.

"Any news?" spoke the police in a deep, harsh voice.

"None sir," his voice muffled by his handkerchief, "Other stations reported to have seen her around these areas in the past 12 hours. She couldn't have gone far," he coughed and blew his nose again, "Sir,"

The police man nodded silently and picked up his pace. His gun glinted in the light and sent shivers running down Eden's spine. Even with a uniform on he didn't look like someone that would protect you. But the thought was short lived as his mind wandered to something else.
