You know, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Eden woke up with a pain in his back that he couldn't quite comprehend, until he remembered what had happened. He recollected the past events as he sat up straight, ruffling his 'bench' hair. ('bed' wouldn't be appropriate).

He got up and dusted himself off.

So my best friend is leaving.

He untied and re-tied his shoes.

And I got kicked out of my own home.

He stood up and fixed himself one last time before breathing in the fresh morning air and walking up the stony path of the park.

It could've been worse.

He stood waiting for a bus to take him to Phillip's house. He didn't know how early Phillip would leave, and walking would take too long. He couldn't risk it. He had to catch up with Phillip.

The road was bumpy and Eden's head hit the blackened window of the public bus as he headed over to Phillip's house.

He closed his eyes and couldn't help the drowsiness that overcame him. Suddenly the bus stopped, causing Eden's eyes to snap open as he grabbed the chair to steady himself from falling forward. The bus driver yelled profanities at the speeding driver he nearly bumped.

Eden disregarded it and starting formulating a speech in his head for when he would meet Phillip, attempting in convincing him to stay.

But his eyes went back to the car as he saw a familiar face peeking out from the slight crack of the car's open window. Phillip's little sister, Ameila scanned the outside of the car with her startlingly green eyes. It landed on Eden for what seemed like a second before the windows were raised to a close.

He shot out from his chair and ran out the door just in time to see the car speed off, in the direction of the airport.

He decided in running after the car, hoping they would see him, but he came to a stop s he overheard a drivers' yells.

His face was dirty with black residue and his hat was twisted on backwards as he shouted at a young scrawny boy.

"Didn't I tell you to go and pick up those packages from the airport? It was your job! Now I HAVE to do it for you?" he yelled loudly.

He shook his head and mounted his pick up truck muttering under his breath. Eden took the opportunity to climb inside the back of the truck just in time before the scrawny boy's head turned in his direction. He ducked, hoping to God that the boy hadn't seen him.

The truck started and sped away before another sound was made. Eden leaned against his bag, facing the sky, praying that he would somehow catch up with his best friend.

*~*

A while later the car stopped and Eden hopped out not caring whether the man saw him or not. He was running to the airport's entrance, dodging all the security somehow, reaching the food court. He spun his head rapidly, praying for even the slightest clue that could lead him to Phillip.

For every flight announced that would take off, Eden raced to that gate, hoping to see Phillip as one of the passengers in waiting.

He ran, and ran, and ran.

Nothing.

Another flight was called out and he decided to take a rest as he tried catching his breath. He was close to giving up when he heard rushing footsteps along with hurried cries.
