Cups tinkled in the background, either coffee cups, or beer mugs. Either way the atmosphere was just pure bliss and laughter. The soft chatter about Abbeline and Eden put them more at ease, even as they sat in front of two people that may as well be either their grandparents or their serial killers.

"So what're your stories?" asked Bob out of the blue, politely smiling at them.

These people won't harm us. Eden reassured himself.

"Well, I'm just a runaway, and he's a lost puppy looking for his owner," replied Abbeline nonchalantly, as usual, while she sipped from her mug of hot chocolate.

Agnes looked at him for confirmation of the statement but Eden only shrugged his shoulders and continually glanced at the clock of the shop.

"Why not tell us your stories instead?" inquired Abbeline.

I still think she's clinging to the thought of them still being vampires.

"Oh, we just came here to visit our daughter and her husband," smiled Agnes.

They break out into a story about their new born grand-daughter and Abbeline hung onto to every word they blurted out while Eden only tried formulating a plan in his head about where they'd go after this.

"She's still in the hospital so they haven't chosen a name for her yet," said Bob as he shook his head.

"Cecily," said Eden without thinking.

All three pairs of eyes were on him, and he turned red from suddenly intruding a conversation he wasn't a part of.

"I'll text her that right away young lad," said Agnes, the giddiness on her face obvious.

Abbeline turned to Eden ad mouthed, 'They can text?' forming an 'O' with her mouth.

Eden only smiled and felt a little more at ease.

"Love, we better leave, Syndi's missing us," muttered Bob, standing up.

"Wait, we still don't know much about this place," asked Eden, fear taking over him completely.

"It's alright dear. You see that bus over there? It'll take you straight to a hotel, and free of charge, because we'll pay the fee for you," said Agnes quickly as she also hurriedly grabbed her things.

"No it's okay we have the money-" said Eden before he got cut off by Bob placing a wad of cash on the table.

No words needed.

"It was so nice to meet you kids, you made the jetlag seem nonexistent for a while," said Agnes as her and her husband held each other's arm and waltzed out to their car. Bob was swinging his keys on his index finger and for a fleeting moment, Eden pictured how they must've looked in their younger years.

"Ahhh, this day is going greaaaat," sighed Abbeline as she put her feet on the now empty chairs across her.

"In a way," muttered Eden.

He began staring into the nothingness before him as his mind drifted off the other matters. Then it hit him. A hotel? Will they be able to afford two rooms? They obviously weren't going to sleep in the same room right? Right?

And suddenly an image of them sleeping in the same bed flashed into his head and he stifled back a sound of shock as he felt his face heat up. DEFINITELY NOT.

Then he heard the sound of glass shattering. He turned his head towards Abbeline and saw her eyes were wide open and her chest was filled with air as she inhaled deeply, as if missing a second of it may prevent her from breathing again.
