'What the hell am I doing,' she questioned as she looked at herself in the mirror, her hand running over her hips that were cased in some skinny jeans. Adriano had asked her on a date, which was crazy because he was fucking engaged; he shouldn't be doing dates! One-night stands, fucking hoes, sure, all of that, but dates, no. And yet, what did she say? Yes. Yup. Sure. Okay. Why the hell did she say yes?
It wasn't like she liked Sara, but Izzy wasn't a hurtful person by nature. And though there was no love lost between those two, she still didn't think it was right to be going on dates. Izzy sighed, looking at herself over again. The deep green sweater was bigger and fell off the shoulder, giving her a rather sensual look. Her jeans were black, and her boots blended in with the jeans, all perfect for a fall outing.
Because that's all she got. When she said yes three nights ago and Adriano told her he would take her out for an outing on her next day off, she was excited and asked what kind of outing. All she got was a 'fall outing'. What type of bull shit was that? So, she assumed outside, which meant cooler, but she had nothing more. When that man wanted to be secretive, he did a really good job, and damn did it irk the shit out of her!
She swiped at the light lipstick on the bottom of her lip and then pulled her hair over her shoulder before stepping out of the room and heading into the living room. He walked out of the kitchen, basket in hand, and stopped to look her over. His slow appraisal had a blush staining her cheeks and the smile he gave her had her squirming against her jeans, the pressure there at the core building up.
"You look gorgeous," he told her as he walked over, brushing a kiss against her cheek.
"Thank you. I wasn't sure if this would be okay." Her eyes dropped down to the basket in his hand. "Adriano, what's the date?"
"Well, now that it's here, I can tell you. I thought it would be nice for you to have a picnic at the park. Where you could view everything to your heart's content." She stared at him, clearly confused and he chuckled. "What?"
"You are actually taking me on a picnic? In the park? Like outside, not some fancy place?" He took her hand and led her out to his car.
"You once talked about a picnic, and I want to give it to you. You know, just because I have fancy things and enjoy them, doesn't mean that's all I'm about. I do enjoy the simpler things in life."
"Like picnics and parks?"
"Yes, and spending time with beautiful women." He helped her into the car, her face once more on fire. He really needed to stop saying things like that because she was getting more confused.-----
She watched as he unfolded the blanket and laid it down, her eyes taking in the jeans and the black turtleneck, and she realized that she hadn't seen him so laid back. Usually, he was in a suit and either working for her dad or working at the club. So, she couldn't help but wonder just how he even got the few hours of breathing time to take her out somewhere. Not with his work and his fiancé there.
"You thought of everything," she told him once he had spread the blanket out to his liking. He beamed at her as he sat down and waved for her to do so as well.
"I wanted this to be great for you and aren't picnics usually on a blanket."
"Sometimes, or a table at a park." She sat down, curling her legs under her, and looked around. "But this is a good spot, and the area is beautiful. Is this some type of private park?"
"Actually, no, it's not. It's a very public place." That had her head turning to look back at him.
"Won't Sara find out?" Adriano chuckled as he pulled out the sandwiches and handed one to her.
