It's been a few hours already, and I'm sprawled against the coffee table, frantically scribbling details about different places to live into my notebook.
We collectively send links to open places to our group chat, and mark off the ones we don't like, whiling bookmarking the ones we like more.
I bookmark another tab, and write down the name and address on my page.
"Do you think that's enough?" I groan, sitting up to stretch my back, a mumble of pops travel down my neck to my tailbone.
"yeah, we should start crossing off our options now," Wil replies, unscrewing the lid of his water bottle, the noise muffled by call interference and quiet static. I hear Ash's neck crack as he rolls it, taking another slice of pizza.
"Roger that," I bring up the first one we'd put down in the discord stream, "Rate out of 10." I turn my page and rule out a chart, scrawling our three names across the top, and registering in the apartment name behind the margin.
The walls are yellow and have smudges when you look closely, the carpet's a light, dirty-brown, and clearly stained in multiple places, the kitchen is also a brown colour, it looks dirty, but doesn't look bad. The area is rather small though, the bedrooms are in a similar condition to the living area, and it looks like black mould has begun growing on the windows. And to top it off, the bathroom is blanketed in carpet, I think that's all need to say in that regard.
"Carpet," Wilbur rests his cheek in his palm, distorting his face, "in the BATHROOM.."
"It's also not in a very convenient area, the whole place seems to be rather shabby," I observe, scrolling through the details while chewing on my pen, "Minus two is my say."
"Definitely," Wil agrees, I look to Ash, and he nods, a rather disgusted look on his face. I scribble minus twos into the boxes underneath our names. We move on to the next one, which has painted walls, the kitchen is also a bright white, the carpet is black, and everything looks clean and good, the only problem is--
"It's so small," Wil observes, leaning towards the screen. Ash nods, and I hum in agreement, "I'm not gonna be able to make breakfast without knocking Y/n over," He snickers.
"Shut up, I'm not even that short," I grumble in return.
"Three," Wilbur confirms, I nod, looking towards Ash, waiting for his rating. He scrolls through the details a bit before holding up four of his fingers. The nib of my pen scratches at the paper as I record our numbers, leaving a neutral five as my own.
It goes on like this for a while, finding flaws in the places we'd put aside earlier. By the time we consider ourselves done, we have three apartments with exceptionally high ratings. Wil looks through one, and sends the pros and cons to the group chat, Ash and I do the same with the other two.
"This one has no paint job. anywhere," Wil deadpans.
"That's odd," I mumble.
It doesn't take long before we're done with our results.
Wil 💀

Me

"These are the best we have?" Wil asks, dissatisfied.
"Yeah." I reply, though he probably didn't need an answer
