Chapter 5: Recognition

Vivid Bad Squad started off their performance with a group song called "Forward" and Y/N played the role of Miku from the reference video he was given. The crowd was impressed by Y/N's ability to keep up with the other members and stand out as well. Y/N felt happy as it had been a while since he sang and dance with this feeling and the members of Vivid Bad Squad smiled at the sight.

As much as Y/N wanted to participate in every performance, it took time to memorize all the steps and lyrics to the songs so there was a limit to what he could manage. After the group performance was over, Vivid Bad Squad took turns to perform in their separate units. Y/N took the time to rest up for his turn as he watched from the sidelines. He couldn't help but smile when he saw the audience who all had happiness and enjoyment written all over their faces. It reminded him a lot of his time when he was an idol and how much he enjoyed watching people's enjoyment.

Little did he know that Minori had been watching the performance from a distance. Watching Y/N's earlier performance had convinced her more and more that he was the one she was searching for. If Y/N could sing and dance just one more time she could decide and confront him. When Vivid Bad Squad had finished with their unit performances and all that was left was the finale, Y/N got back in formation and got ready as the music started. He once again felt alive as he sang and danced his heart out to the audience. It was then he noticed the brown-haired girl who was watching with glimmering eyes. As the song came to an end the crowd gave the squad an applause and cheers.

"Thank you, guys, for coming to today's performance!" An said through her mike.

"I hope we made it worth your time," Kohane said.

"Let's also give a round of applause to our special guest," Toya said pointing to Y/N.

The crowd did as Toya asked and Y/N thanked them and bowed to show his gratitude.

"I told you guys he was skilled," Akito said with a smile. "We will see you guy's next time in our future performances."

"Till then..." An said as everyone on Vivid Bad Squad held hands.

"Thank you once again for coming and hope you'll stop by again!" They all said taking a bow.

"Thanks for letting me join today guys," Y/N said as they started cleaning.

"We thought you might want to do something like this," Toya said.

"You were great Y/N!" Kohane said as a blushing Y/N thanked her.

Y/N and the squad wrapped things up and An's father later came in a van and picked up the equipment. They said they're goodbyes and went their separate ways. Y/N was looking at photos he had taken from the performance while listening to music until he noticed a figure standing in front of him blocking his way. He put away his phone and earphones and asked a question.

"So did you get your answer?" Y/N asked.

"Yeah... I think I did," the figure said coming out of the dark. "Sorry for following you."

"No problem Minori," Y/N said walking closer to her.

"If I'm right about it, I think you're Y/N from B/N (band name)," Minori said showing him a poster she pulled out of her bag.

Y/N went silent for a bit until he spoke.

"What gave it away?" He spoke.

"Other than the strong resemblance, your vocals were remarkable as well as your dancing ability! That part when you were handling your part while watching after your members, trying to maintain the momentum, coordination, and not to mention keeping your expression-"

"I think I get your point" Y/N said stopping Minori.

"S-Sorry! I tend to get excited and rabble on about stuff related to idols," She said embarrassed.

"You seem to know your stuff" Y/N said, slightly chuckling at the sight, as Minori nodded. "Have you considered trying yourself?"

"Actually..." Minori looked at the floor crossing her legs. "That was what I wanted to talk about."

"Are you looking for advice?"

"Something like that."

"As in?"

"It might take a while to explain so could we talk about it tomorrow if you have time?" Minori asked.

"Sure," Y/N said.

"Great!" Minori said excited. "I have work after school tomorrow, but we could meet after then. Is that okay?"

"Sounds good to me," Y/N said.

The two exchange numbers and Y/N walks with her until they leave the alley, they were in. When they parted ways Y/N looked back and saw a happy Minori skidding home.
