ASTONIA'S POV: BIMIL HQ"It's about time, don't you think?" The woman beside me said in a lively tone, dressed in a sleek black business suit finished with a glossy triangle tipped heel that would make a satisfying clank on the marbled floor.
"I guess so," I responded, dreading what I had destined to be. After all the pressure they put me through over the 20 years of my life, this better be worthwhile.
"It's your very first mission! I bet you'll do great. They've trained you with immense hope that you'd carry out the family business," Her tag was labelled 'Gemma', barely noticeable from the lights reflecting off the badge, "Besides, you're not going to be alone." She reassured me, even though she was merely 5 years older. I stiffly nodded at her words, taking a glance around the interior of the building once in a while. After a moment of silence, Gemma spoke once more.
"I am going to head off and fetch your parents, meanwhile, just sit down over here and maybe bury your head into one of the magazines set on the table." She said, directing to the red tech sofas, being held by nothing but the magnetic forces repelling each other. I nodded and took a seat, the cushions feeling much more comfortable than I had anticipated. I bent over the table to reach for one of the magazines as Gemma had suggested and flipped through a couple of pages.
At this point, I was fully invested in the models dressed in monotone colours and the black and white photographs, the unique poses they all stood in.
"You're not a familiar face," I heard a girl's voice speak. It was quite deep, slightly raspy.
"That's because I'm not," I responded, still not peeling my eyes off of the magazine.
"Agent Jenna Ortega, top agent around here." She introduced. I raised a brow, before finally looking up from the page I was previously looking at to face a girl that looked like she came right out of a Tim Burton movie. Her hair was tied up in a messy ponytail and her bangs were cut just above her brows, longer strands defining her face shape. I turned my gaze to one of the large screens to see her face displayed, a bright smile on her face and big bold letters saying 'TOP AGENT ORTEGA COMPLETES YET ANOTHER MISSION'.
"Is that so?" I asked in curiosity. My parents never mentioned her, ever. It looked like Jenna took it as an offence, and began to unexpectedly raise her voice in a much more intimidating manner.
"Yes, yes it is. Wait till you meet the others, all they're going to tell you is how many missions I've been able to successfully complete, 'did you know Agent Ortega did this!', or 'did you hear about Ortega's new mission she devoured!'" Shel boasted, to my annoyance.
"Cool," I replied dryly, realising she had zero interest in actually befriending me, and decided to boast to the only person she has yet to do so.
"And what about you?" Jenna asked, sitting on the sofa opposite me with a smug look on her face, "What did they see in you to hire ya?"
Just as I was going to answer, two silhouettes casted before us. A middle aged woman, wearing a silk white dress with a shiny black boa resting on her shoulders and covering the back of her neck. Complimenting her was a man, looking as fresh as ever with his full matte black suit, paired with a golden rolex.
"Mr and Mrs. Ong," Jenna said, standing up from her position and bowing at them, her hands crossed in front of her, "Good evening, how may I help?"
"Oh how delightful! The two of you have already met," The woman exclaimed, "Astonia, dear, how do you like the place so far?" She asked me. The smile from Jenna's face slipped away as I felt it transfer onto my own.
"It's stunning, Mother," I said, intentionally stressing on the last word. I got up as she invited me for a warm embrace. It stayed like that for a few seconds, Jenna's mouth slightly gaping open. We pulled away from each other and my dad patted me on the back.
"So glad you like it, Wong Yu," I felt my smile fade as quick as light, the use of my birth name creeping under my skin. I didn't exactly appreciate it when people called me that, my parents were usually the exception, "Now, why don't the two of you follow me to my office." He ended, putting his arm around me and heading to what I assumed was his office. I could feel Jenna's eyes burning into my neck as she strolled behind us, the satisfaction I felt was feeding my non-existent ego.
"Am I going to work with her?" I whispered in my father's ear, which wasn't much of a problem considering I was abnormally tall compared to an average girl my age, which had grown to be a huge insecurity of mine, "The girl behind us?"
"Why of course, she's the best of the best if you couldn't tell by now. I just want you to be safe for your first mission." He whispered back, with a proud smile on his wrinkled face. I clenched my jaw, but returned the smile nonetheless, knowing he had the best intentions. It wasn't his fault, anyway. It just so happened that Jenna was the cliche ego-centric, 'top of the class' sort of character. I knew this was bound to happen, just not this quick.

The two of us stood across my father; the boss of the entire building, his hands clasped together and his gaze landing on the both of us.
"As you have realised, Agent Ortega, the girl standing beside you is none other than my daughter, who is coincidentally your age," He said, the smile not leaving his face, "I've always thought of you as a daughter. Now, seeing the both of you stand before me, shows how proud I truly am of the two of you," I began to chew on my inner cheek, to say I wasn't even the slightest jealous would be a lie right now. I turned my head to possibly sneak a look at Jenna but immediately whipped it back after our eyes met for a mere millisecond. Looks like she was already looking.
"What will be the task you assign us, Mr. Ong?" Jenna asked, fast-paced. She clearly just wanted to get out of there and quick.
"Ah yes. Straight to the point, I like it!" He complimented. I gave an unsatisfied look, and from the corner of my eye, I could see Jenna smirking delightfully at my look. This is going to be hell.
"The both of you are going to be after the infamous Finn Wolfhard, son of Lucius and Jessica Wolfhard, leaders of a well known Mafia organisation. They've just recently set their son as their mascot, making him do all the dirty work for them while they hide behind the curtains, puppeteering him throughout. I assume he would be an easy target, seeing as he is naive and foolish, I wouldn't say it would be hard to use him to get to his father and successfully get rid of him," He went on to talk about the family's history, and why we were supposed to take care of them in the first place.
"Sounds astronomical, dad!" I interrupted after he'd finished explaining. He knows my humour too well, and so he went up to me and grabbed both my shoulders, giving me a warm smile.
"You'll do great, darling. I know how capable you are. That's why I gave such a hard task, partnering you up with our best? Why did you think I did that?" He said in a very hushed tone. He can be intimidating, but he's always had this touching side to him that I don't quite enjoy, "Now, run along, your disguises and weapons are ready in the next room," He instructed, "Gemma? If you will,"
"Of course, sir," Gemma slipped into the office, giving Jenna and I an ecstatic smile. I turned back to Jenna and she was rolling her eyes at her, already heading out the office, "Come on, Astonia, it's this way."
