"What would you like? Wait! Why am I asking a dog?"
I growled. From a far I lol like a wolf, but up close I actually do like a wolf.

"Wait. You are not a dog, yes?" Reeto asked. I nodded. "You are actually not a dog, yes?" He asked, again I nodded. "You are a carnivorous beast." I frowned that he called me a beast, but I nodded. "You are a.......... wolf?" I nodded, he went on to say, "But you are not a wolf. If you are not, change to your true form." I hesitated. I didn't want to show him my actual form, but I shifted to human.

"Ah ha!" But then his eyes began to widen.
He noticed my flaming red hair.

Reeto got down on his knees and said, "My lady Mercury. I-I" I rolled my eyes, and held out my hand. I helped him to his feet. "Please, there's no need to do that." He smiled, and I smiled back.
"Now can I please have something to eat!?" I asked. "Of course, of course!"

#*#*#*

I left Reeto's full and satisfied. He told me that I could come anytime I wanted.

I was walking down the street when, a man ran screaming, "Run, run, RUUUUNNNN!!!!!" I thought that maybe he was drunk, but a man that drunk, running that fast, he wouldn't be alive that long.

I brightened my senses and stood ground.
I waited. Maybe the man was just seeing things. But still, I couldn't let my guard down.
A sudden brown flash came zooming, and jumped right on top of me.

I had walked this earth for years, yet I had never seen this creature before.

It had a long snout, with prick up ears, large thin eyes, a wet nose, piercing teeth, but probably it's worse feature was that it had a human body.

It snarled and drooled on my face. I had enough. I decided to throw this bastard to Timbuktu.
I kicked it in the chest, and it growled in pain.
I jumped to my feet. It stared at me angrily. It roared, I prepared for the worst.

It charged straight towards me on all fours. I leapt high in the air, and the thing smashed into the tree.

It became dizzy, and when things become dizzy, it's usually followed by anger.
I ran off to the only safe place I could find, Reeto's.

I raced off in the darkness. It was catching up to me, but luckily I made it to Reeto's before It could.

"Mercury, what's wrong?" Reeto asked in his rough Italian voice. "There's an unknown beast outside." Reeto nearly choked. "What?! I thought you knew every creature there is to know!" "This is different!" I spluttered.

"Well, uh, what is it?" Reeto said while coming to help me keep the door closed.
Reeto saw the bloody thing, and lost his shit.
"You see what I mean!" I screamed. I knew we wouldn't be able to keep the door closed for much longer.

My prediction was correct. 'It' blasted through the doors. Reeto ran around like a crazy man.
It's focus was on me, so I tried to out smart it. I jumped high, and it tried to jump higher to land on top of me, but instead it hit it's head on the ceiling.

It fell to ground, unconscious. "Reeto, get me something sharp." I was expecting a knife or something, but he handed me a broom instead. I glared at him, I suppose that's what you get when you don't ask for anything specific.

I plunged the end of the broom into its chest.
"Have we- you, won the battle?" Reeto asked. "Yes." I sighed.
"What do think it was?"
I looked at it for a moment and shrugged. "A hybrid, maybe..."

And thus, the battle was won.
