Cho Miyeon –11:13AM
You're in Guri today?!
Cho Miyeon – 11:13AM
I neeeever thought I'd see the day where Jennie Kim calls in fake-sick. Then you get a girlfriend and all of the sudden, here we are...
Jennie Kim – 11:15AM
I didn't fake-sick; I'm taking the day off for Sacheon related business.
Jennie Kim– 11:15AM
And I do not have a "girlfriend."
Cho Miyeon – 11:16AM
I mean, right! Totally. Sure, everyone knows you two were kissing Tuesday night but you got it, Boss
Jennie rolled her eyes at the message from her assistant. It was true; everyone in Sacheon had known about them by Wednesday morning.
It wasn't like it was printed up on one of the holiday banners – though with the way the old gossips had been grinning at her the following morning, it may as well have been. She'd given them a look and they hadn't brought it up to her in words. No one had, really.
There were just the looks, from the select few. And mostly just the gossips. The thing was, Lisa's struggle in Sacheon when she'd come out – well, it had been legitimate. It had been over twenty years ago. But people changed and grew and learned, and so many in Sacheon had; Jennie would never let someone dismiss the people there as small-minded, as was one of her biggest issues with so many people who looked down on the South.
Jennie had gotten a few sneers or a comment here or there over the years, but you could find an asshole like Kevin and his ilk anywhere.
Her not wanting people to know her business was never a matter of her sexuality; it was just a matter of who she was. And with Lisa, now, there was no turning back.
Jennie Kim – 11:18AM
Since when does kissing someone make them your girlfriend?
Jennie Kim – 11:19AM
Also, since I am NOT slacking today, I left came in at 7 and left some paperwork for Kevin to sign on my desk. Please bring it out and have it ready so he can't get his dream to invite himself into my office.
Cho Miyeon – 11:19AM
You got it, Boss. But, for real this time
Cho Miyeon – 11:19AM
And seriously? Have fun today. You deserve to play hooky once in your life
Jennie shook her head at Miyeon's messages, even though... damn, she really did have a soft spot for her. Though she maintained that this could be, technically, considered Sacheon business, given that she was here, in Guri, with Lisa, because Guri was having the first day of their Christmas Carnival today and Lisa wanted to give it a good scope for the list.
But the truth was that Jennie just couldn't do it anymore. She couldn't keep pretending, couldn't keep lying to herself, couldn't keep resisting something when she knew it was a long fruitless battle.
Her entire life had been a question of how long it would really take her to succumb to her feelings for Lisa. To utterly surrender to the want for her, the want that had only grown with time.
