Kadyn was starting to get on my nerves. Him constantly going on and on about the little ditzy princess I could care less about was starting to crack me like an egg.

Why he was always bringing her up? I don't know, it beats me. "Well if I'm being honest. I kind of agree with him." His twin, Jadyn, spoke up.

"You've both been at this for like what. Since the start of the semester."

I ignore them. Not really sure how to come up with an answer just yet. I'm not really sure why I even still bother with her.

For one, the little idiot got me into more trouble than I'd expected. I didn't expect her to freeze up the way she did.

She wasn't that drunk from what I could tell. No, it was like she was scared, more like terrified. I should have left her there, but something in me just wouldn't let me.

"I don't like the little ditzy princess."

"If you don't like her, why keep adding the princess part and why not just call her ditzy."

"Yea man I think that's a little sus." The twins crack jokes, making fun of the unknown situation between me and the little idiot. "Shut the hell up already. Get this shit bagged up, we gotta go soon."

Looking at the time, I mentally curse at my friends for playing around too much. I had a time limit and I'd be damned if I don't make it. Out the corner of my eye, I spot my best friend eyeing me.

He had been bugging me about the whole arrested situation the whole day, and every time I had just ignored him. The last time he asked about it, I made up a random lie.

Pretty sure Jackson knew I was lying.
Most of the time, he knew me better than I knew myself at times.

I knew once the twins left he would pester me again, so I just thought to myself, fuck this. I would tell him what he wanted, just to get him off my back.

I already had enough on my plate.

The twins grabbed the duffle bags, heading upstairs to put them in the car.

Jackson stood from his seat, arms crossed on his chest, waiting for me to explain.

"You're annoying." He smirked, still waiting. "She got me caught up." I shrugged, ripping the band aid off.

"I fucking knew it. How the fuck did you let that happen. Why was she even there?"

Again, my shoulders lift slightly before dropping back in place. " She came out of nowhere when I was painting."

"Annnd what happened with the cops?"

"They pulled up and we went to run but. . ." I pause thinking about the look on her face again.

My heart clenched. Her face gave away a feeling I haven't felt in a long time.

"But?" Jackson pressed. "She froze."
Grabbing the next two duffle bags, I head up the stairs, my best friend soon following suit.
