Another half hour has passed, and I've peed four times. I feel like a goddamn pregnant woman whose bladder is being kicked and elbowed in a steady rotation.
Mattie and I had returned from the first bathroom run just in the knick of time to see the guys - Harry and Ollie included - hop onto the stage. We sat and giggled with Maya throughout their performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody," howling when Graham mimed kneeing Harry in the crotch to hit the falsetto bits as they all huddled around the mics. They all joined in the laughfest when they returned to their seats, with my brother nearly tackling me over the table when I announced I was sending the video I recorded to Sierra.
After my second pee, I ordered another water and a drink each for myself and Damien. Back at the table, it clicked that Harry had a familiar pair of sunglasses on. Not his – those were sitting on my head, tangled up in my hair by that point –, but mine. The ones I vaguely remembered giving Damien to hold onto when Mattie and I first went up to perform.
I tried stealing them, but Harry wanted his back in return. He reasoned that he needed something to obscure his face, a point I couldn't really argue with. I wasn't looking to negotiate though, so I half-heartedly bitched for a while to try wearing him down. I didn't succeed at doing anything other than entertain him, so I gave up and went back to the bathroom.
Nothing interesting to report about post-piss number three. Things started getting a little blurry here. I think I made a pit stop at the bar again? I think Maya started flirting with me too, but I might be making that up.
Now, on my way back with Mattie from my fourth potty break, we're busy yammering on about a couple of her students when we reach our table. Everyone there has grown quiet as we take our seats, but it doesn't register until I glance around the space. The only local noise is coming from Damien's phone, which he's holding between Maya and Ollie while standing behind them.
"What's up?" I ask, finding that everyone either has their eyes locked on me, our table, or somewhere out in space.
"Damien, shut it o-"
"Yeah, yup, got it," he reassures Mattie, hurriedly locking up his phone and pocketing it.
"What is it?" I move to stand again before Harry clamps his hand on my shoulder and keeps me seated.
