"Can't have the world all dark and gloomy."

The day was starting to end and the sun shined through the windows of the hospital building. The three woman stayed in the waiting room hoping for Sam to come out relatively soon.
Carmen was finally out of the hospital bed and now sitting in a chair between her mother and aunt. Gale had formulated a plan that seemed like it could work but only if Sam agreed to it which was a slim chance considering the concept of the idea.
Sidney looked at her friend skeptical about the plan. "And you're positive this will work?" She asked her brows furrowing as she stared the reporter down.
Gale rolled her eyes and raised a perfectly plucked brow. "When has my plan ever failed?"
Sidney and Carmen looked at each other before resting their eyes back on the ravenette with a blank stare. "Okay that was one time but this plan will work." The two still stared. "It will!" Gale exclaimed loudly before wincing at her volume.
"We'll see." Carmen spoke in a sing-song voice which had Sidney having a hard time trying not to laugh at.
Not much time after, Sam walked into the lobby wheeling Tara in a wheelchair with Richie behind them. Sidney looked at the two, "that's her?" She asked.
Carmen nodded, "yep." Sidney got up and started walking towards Sam and Carmen sighed. She tried to get out of the chair but failed. "This should be a lot easier." Gale looked down at the stubborn Carmen and raised a brow at the girl. "I don't need help." She muttered and tried to get out of the chair but as she pushed down on the arms of the chair pain shot through her shoulder and hissed. Flopping back down she sighed in defeat. "Ok, I need help."
Gale smiled softly and carefully helped Carmen up and wrapped an arm around her shoulder helping her walk towards Sidney and the others. Walking didn't hurt for Carmen which was surprising but she knew that in a couple of days the pain would be excruciating. Pain was also delayed for the girl which was also strange to her but today she was grateful for her gift.
As the two made it over to Sidney they just heard her announce Samantha's relation to Billy Loomis.
"Hey T." Carmen said softly leaning down to Tara's side.
Tara looked over Carmen with worried eyes. "Are you okay?" Tara asked, her eyes staring straight at the bandage on Carmen's head.
"Oh this," Carmen gestured to her body. "This is nothing you should see the other guy." She joked coaxing a laugh out of Tara.
"Always the one to joke during a serious time." Tara muttered, earning a smile from Car.
"Can't have the world all dark and gloomy." She shrugged her shoulders grimacing at the ache in her right one.
