I groan as I wake up the next day. We thoroughly cleaned up most of the mess, so luckily mum wasn't too questioning of what happened.

I sat in my room, holding my amulet in my hands and rubbing the beautiful golden metal. then, I pulled out the gemstone the vampires gave me. Looking up, I noticed Morgana floating in front of me. "how are you feeling?" she asked.

I sighed and got up. "I'm alright, I'm gonna meet with the vampires tomorrow night. I want to know what they want." Morgana nodded, "alright, let's go to our training area tonight, I'll teach you how to make some potions. You'll need the extra boost for strength and regeneration. your injuries need to heal fully"

I then got up, grabbed my cane and walked down the stairs. "hey mum, how are you doing?" mum looked over to me from the kitchen. "I'm good kiddo, how are you feeling?" she asked with a smile.

"I'm good mum, I feel a lot better," I said, getting into the kitchen. Jim was cooking and nodded to me. "hey bro, how you doing?" he asked as he flipped pancakes.

I grinned as I sat down, "I'm good. I'm gonna be with some friends tonight and tomorrow, got some projects to work on, So don't be surprised if I'm not around tonight." mum looked at me and nodded. "y/n, you really need to introduce me to these friends of yours. I've never met them and would love to know them."

I smiled nervously but nodded, "sure, I'll let them know." with that, I quickly ate my food. before I got up. "see yah bro, oh, don't forget. The play."

Jim's eyes widened before nodding thanks to me. "see yah at school bro, thanks!" mum then also waved me off before I walked outside. Climbing onto my bike, I revved the engine and took off.

Riding along I heard Morgana speak. "alright, ride to where we were the other day. I'll teach you how to brew some potions and some defence against vampires." I listened intently as I rode. a Chill went down my spine, I felt like I was being watched but as I looked around, I couldn't see what it was. "you alright?" Morgana asked, "I feel like we're being watched," I said as I rode along.

Finally, I asked a question, "Morgana, from what I know, vampires feast on humans. I don't want that. What should I do?" Morgana hummed a little before speaking. "You'll need to find a way to strike a deal with them. and if that doesn't work, you'll need to kill them all,"

I froze, "what? I... I can't do that." Morgana seemed surprised, "why not? you killed those goblins and tried to kill the changeling, you said you won't kill innocents, and we agreed. but these are vampires, they kill humans without mercy. what if they go after your friends, your family?"

I looked away, uncomfortable. "the goblin was different, it was... savage and Nomura... gave me no choice. but, what if the vampires turned without their consent? what if they didn't want to be these monsters. I..." I stopped, shaking my head. Morgana sent a small wave of comfort, "I understand, I'm asking for quite a bit for you to kill. you are a child if you want. you can stop this." She offered but I shook my head. "no, we had a deal. I'm sticking to it. I'll do whatever it takes to keep my family safe. No matter what."

with that, I rode silently the rest of the way. The idea of killing ate at me. I mean, I killed that goblin but it was more a wild animal than sentient. right?

I arrived at school and walked in. using my cane to balance myself as I wandered the halls. eventually meeting Clair in the halls. "hey Clair!" I said as I walked up to her. Clair turned to me with a slightly annoyed look. "your brother keeps missing practice for our play." she said to me. I sighed before speaking. "sorry about him, he... he has a lot going on. he has some monsters of his own to deal with." after saying this, I watched as Clair's eyes went wide with worry. "Woah, is he ok?"  she asked with worry. I looked away and said, "yeah, he has a lot of pressure on his shoulders, so, I'm sorry for the trouble but, could you cut him some slack?"
