I will have the scene with Kate and Gus.

───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────

Gus and Co were driving towards Chicago in the Budget van to drop Kate off. Kate was trying to find a way back to Chicago she fortunately had a ride with a band and she was feeling guilty for not checking that the eldest kid and the baby in her family in total as everyone was back in Paris.

"I'm a bad parent. I'm a bad parent." Kate told to Gus who offered her a ride in their truck.

"No, you're not. You're beatin' yourself up there. This happens. These things happen, y'know. You wanna talk about bad parents?" Gus said. "Look at us. We're on the road 48, 49 weeks outta the year. We hardly see our families. Joe, over there. Gosh, you know...he forgets his kids' names half the time." Gus pointed to each member of the band that was sleeping. "Ziggy over there, he's never even met his kid. Eddie... Let's just hope none of them write a book about him."

"Tell me, have you gone on vacation and left your child home?" Kate said.

"No. But I did leave one at a funeral parlor once. Yeah, it was terrible too. I was all distraught and everything. The wife and I, we left the little tyke there in the funeral parlor. All day. All day. You know, when we went back at night, when we...came to our senses, there he was. Apparently, he was there all day with a corpse. Now, he was okay. You know, after six, seven weeks. He came around and started talkin' again. They get over it. Kids are resilient like that." Gus said and told Kate about his experience about forgetting his kid.

"Maybe we shouldn't talk about this." Kate said trying to avoiding the conversation.

"You brought it up, I was just tryna cheer you up." Gus said.

"I'm sorry I did." Kate apologized.

The truck stopped in front of the house which woke Kevin up but Ryleigh was still sleeping.

Kevin ran downstairs. "Mom? Mom?" Kevin called getting excited to think that his mom was home. But no one was home making Kevin frown.

Kevin walked somewhere not "Kevin? Kevin!"

Kate saw that the tree was up knowing her son wanted a tree in the house and Kevin saw his mom looking in the living room. She turned and smiled at Kevin. "Merry Christmas, sweetheart." Kevin didn't say anything to her just looking at her. "Oh, Kevin, I'm so sorry."

Kevin smiled at her then they hugged, while Ryleigh was moving in her sleep as she was sleeping in Kate and Peter's bedroom again.

"Where's everybody else?" Kevin asked.

"Oh, baby, they couldn't come. They wanted to so much, but--" Kate was cut off by the door opening to see her family entering the house.

Buzz was arguing with Linnie and Megan. "I didn't fall asleep in the back of the cab and drool all over you, did I?"

Peter enter the house and saw his son. "Kevin! Kevin, my boy. How are you?" Peter said and hugs his son.

The sound of her dad, Ryleigh woke up and rushed out the room and saw her dad home but her smile dropped when she saw Kate.

"Oh, it's good to see you." Kevin said.

"You're all right. I love you. You okay?" Peter asked.

"Yeah." Kevin says.

"Hey, Kev. It's pretty cool that you didn't burn the place down." Buzz said, the first time he was being nice to him.

"Thanks, Buzz." Kevin smiled at him.

"Wait a minute. How did you guys get home?" Kevin asked.

"We took the morning flight. Remember? The one you didn't wanna wait for." Peter said.

"Oh, no. Oh! Thank you. Merry Christmas." Kate said and kissed his cheek.

"Merry Christmas." Peter said.

"Someone has to find an open store. We don't even have milk here." Kate said.

"Ryleigh and I went shopping yesterday." Kevin said and everyone was shocked. Ryleigh walked down the stairs slowly but hid from the family.

"You, shopping?" Jeff says in disbelief.
"I got some milk, eggs, and fabric softener." Kevin said.

"What? No kiddin'? What a funny guy. What else did you do while we were away?" Peter asked.

"Just hung around." Kevin lied.

Peter finds Harry's gold tooth on the floor. "Honey, what's this?" Peter asked. Ryleigh ran down the stairs as Peter looked up and saw his first daughter and she ran down and jumped in her father's arms who quickly responds.

"I missed you daddy." Ryleigh whispered to him.

Peter chuckled and held the back of her head and kissed her on the temple. "I missed you too. Merry Christmas." Peter whispered back. Peter know that she doesn't get along with the rest of the family but Kevin and himself.

"Merry Christmas, I love you." Ryleigh said.

"I love you too." Peter said and let her go so she could breath but still kissed her head.

Ryleigh walked up to Kevin who was by the window and looked out to see Marley reunited with his son, granddaughter and daughter-in-law; Marley waves to both siblings and they wa ed back to him with big smiles.

"Kevin! What did you do to my room?!" Buzz shouted and Kevin's eyes widened and ran from the window making Ryleigh giggle.

She was happy to her father back everyone else she didn't mind but Buzz and Frank she hated. Family is back and she was feeling happy only for Kevin and that's all she cares about.
