The Prank

Chapter II

Mike pov
I ran to the bathroom, slammed the door and sank to the floor. What the heck am I doing? Kissing Will? And enjoying it? Am I... gay? What no I can't be, I dated El! But I didn't love her, did I? No. It's the only explanation. Im gay. I wrenched the door of the bathroom open and ran back to the basement.
"IM GAY!" I yelled. Everyone stared at me in shock until a sound came out of the brunette girl at the corner of the room.
"Ew." She said. I could see Will's eyes fill with rage. He stood up, strode over to El and picked her up by her collar.
"Say you're sorry." He whispers threateningly. She doesn't say anything so he repeats himself. "SAY YOUR'E SORRY!" He shouts. She apologises quickly, tears forming in her eyes. I could feel the rage erasing from Will's face in just a few seconds. He looked like he was about to cry. I know Will doesn't usually get like this with people, let alone someone in the party. I grabbed his hand and dragged him towards my room and I could hear his sobs. Once we got to my room, I sat on my bed and held my arms out. Will walked over to me and buried his head in my chest.
"I can't believe I just did that. I almost hurt El. Yeah we don't get along but I don't want to hurt her, or anybody! Im such a monster!" He cried.
"You aren't a monster Will! We all got angry at El and honestly if it was me I probably would've done something even worse. It isn't your fault." I reassured him.
"Well at least the prank is still going well!" Will said cheering up.
"I told everyone I was gay..."I sighed.
"Say it was a dare!" Will prompted. I reluctantly agreed and we went back to the basement. For some reason, Max and El we're making out in a corner as if she wasn't homophobic. Will glared at Max and El then decided it didn't matter and we should put a movie on. Will and I went up to the kitchen to get some popcorn, and Will suddenly turned around.
"Why did you randomly say you were gay?" He asked suspiciously.
"Idk, it just felt right?" I tried to answer.
"Mike, I know when you're lying." Will stated stubbornly. I just shook my head and caressed his face with my hand. I didn't really mean too, but I eventually kissed him, and it felt like fireworks were exploding inside me! I picked him up and slammed him on the counter, our kisses becoming hungry and desperate. We eventually stopped to take a breath, which led to us reluctantly going back to the basement.

                                Mike pov
When we got back, Max and El we're still snogging in the corner, which probably meant El was still annoyed at me. I just don't understand why Max is kissing El. Yeah, she's pretty, but apart from that she's a bitch. Max really lowered her standards. I walked up to them and asked if they were like together, and they said yes! I'm really confused, but good for them I guess? I sat back down on the sofa next to Will, and Lucas suddenly pulled my shoulder and whispered "Are you actually gay, man?" I knew this was the perfect moment to throw in some lies, so I replied saying,"Lol, no it was a dare from Will." We both snickered like crazy afterwards. I looked over to Will, who suddenly looked really upset for some reason. Guess I'll talk to him about it later.
"Hey guys, it's still early so do you wanna go to Star-court or something?" Dustin asked eagerly. We all eventually agreed to go to the skate park and then to Scoops, as we all wanted to see Steve and Robin. We set off, all of us on bikes except the girls, who were sharing Max's skateboard. I need to remember to talk to Max about El when we get to the park. When we got there, Max and Will brought out their skateboards and began riding. Well, Max did, Will kinda just stood on the skateboard, trying not to fall off. I laughed at his frightened expression and went to help him. The time passed by quickly, and before we knew it, the party had left to go to Scoops and left me and Will alone. He was about to succeed in a full 180• turn, but he fell last minute and we ended up on top of each other. We were just staring at each other for a while, and we were about to kiss when the others came back and saw us. We flew away from each other and laughed awkwardly.
"What on Veria were you guys doing?" Dustin asked suspiciously. Me and Will desperately tried to think of an excuse when Will suddenly blurted
"Its that TikTok challenge, haven't you heard of it?"
"The one where to best friends try to not make out with each other when they look each other in the eyes?" Lucas asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well we did it for fun" I replied confidently. They seemed to accept that answer and eventually we all left. Max was about to get on her skateboard when I quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
"What?" She asked exasperated.
"Why have you randomly started dating El?" I asked.
"Cause I like her. She's like super pretty and nice." She replied simply.
"What-no she's not- ykw just be careful, she may seem nice but she is actually a monster." I said dramaticly
"You're so dramatic!" She rolled her eyes and rode away to the others. She really doesn't understand does she? Oh well.
