Frustrated, Ghost pushed the restroom doors on base open before finding himself stood in front of one of the mirrors. He heaved a heavy sigh, staring at his reflection, his ungloved hands tightly held either side of the white shiny sink, knuckles turning white. The Lieutenant had spent hours at the range, only to miss every target, every knife thrown missed the targets, he was distracted, something unsettling nestled into his mind, he couldn't focus, concentrate.

Ghost looked into his bright blue eyes through the mirror, his sunglasses and gloves were thrown down in a fit of rage when when he missed the closest target. The blue orbs showed the lies behind the madness running through his head. Then the door suddenly opened, the grip Ghost had on the sink tightened until he heard an accent that sent chills down his spine.

"You alright, Ghost?"

He didn't answer, instead he watched through the mirror as the muscled figure walked towards him. Ghost lowered his head, trying to make sense of all the thoughts clouding his mind. He felt surprisingly gentle arms wrap around his waist, and a chin rest on his shoulder. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out, so he closed his mouth again. After a few moments, Ghost lifted his eyes to look into the other blue orbs looking back at him.

"Something about Shepherd doesn't sit right with me. Suddenly caring about danger close, that's bullshit" he huffed out. "He never cared about what happens to his own men. None of it feels right" there was a moment of silence.

"Aye...I have a sick feeling about it too" that accent once again sent chills through the Lieutenant's body. "But we can't prove anything. I guess Shepherd has his reasons, he has to"

"We gotta do something, Mactavish" Ghost finally let go of the sink.

"Ghost..." the Captain paused. "We have no proof"

He knew Soap was right, they couldn't get close to Shepherd, they had nothing on him. Ghost only leaned into Soap's warmth, his head leant back. Soap nuzzled his face into his neck, which prompted Ghost to pull his balaclava up to his nose. Gentle lips were placed at the crook of his neck, working his sweet spot. Ghost lifted his hand and ran his fingers through Soap's mohawk, feeling hands attempting to knead at his tense shoulders.

"I know what you need, mate" Mactavish murmured against his skin. "Let's go back to our quarters and I'll give ya a massage. You're a wee bit tense"

"That sounds bloody lovely" Ghost felt Soap pull away, he pulled his mask back down and turned away from the mirror, brushing his fingers against Soap's before making his way to the door.

"I'll be out in five" Soap called. No one on base knew they were together, not even the rest of the Task Force knows. They've kept their relationship a secret and intend to keep it that way.

Ghost traced his fingers lovingly across Soap's thighs as he sat in between the Captain's legs. He tried to focus all his thoughts on the two of them, but his mind won, his thoughts solely circled around Shepherd once again. That was until he felt fingers tug the hem of his shirt upward, he helped to remove his shirt before closing his eyes and lowering his head.

"You don't have to keep your mask on" Soap started, finishing the sentence with a few Scottish words, Ghost presumed they were probably sweet nothings. He placed his palms on Ghost's shoulder blades.

"I know. I'm just still not used to this...gettin' all this attention" he lifted the bottom of the balaclava up and over his head, his soft blonde hair matted from being under the mask for so long, then placing his mask at the bottom corner of the bed. "You always knew how to distract me from my thoughts that it amazes me. You amaze me, Mactavish. And I love you"
