Chapter 3- Ceremony

Ayanokouji exited his room a bit after he settled everything down. Remembering vaguely that there was an entrance ceremony, he paused momentarily to consider his options.

One: Go to the entrance ceremony at full speed.
Two: Stay in his room.
Three: Accept that he'll be late, and head to the ceremony at a decent pace, hopefully catching a decent amount of the details.

He decided to settle for option three.

Strolling comfortably through the premise, he approached the school itself calmly. Ignoring any other people who may be present from upper classes, and not caring anymore about being on time, he soon approached the assemblage of people. Unsurprisingly, nobody was outside of the building besides himself. He intended originally on walking in from the front, but most likely, people were standing on the other side of the doors. This would call for alternative methods.

Walking around from the back, he looked around to see if any windows were close enough for access.

Much to his pleasure, several windows were on the building, and most would only require a small amount of climbing on the entirely vertical wall. That would be no issue.

Meanwhile...

Inside the building...

People quietly watched as the speech continued.

However, just behind the student council president, a person could be seen scaling down the wall from a slightly ajar window, crawling on all fours with no apparent handholds. How they were doing it was entirely against all logistics and sciences the world was exposed to, but as long as nobody noticed, all would be well.

"THERE'S A PERSON CRAWLING ON THE WALL!" A student from class D yelled in shock, completely interrupting the ongoing speech. Nearby staff prepared to disciplined this individual, rolling their eyes at the incredibly stupid exclamation. However, as they rolled their eyes, suddenly, they caught a glimpse of what had been noticed.

Before pandemonium could break out though, the person on the wall leapt down, landing just beside the president.

Manabu Horikita, a normally composed man stared in total wonder at this individual.

One other person however was too busy being upset at this appearance to focus on how they climbed a sheer wall upside down. That person? Tachibana Akane, a girl head over heels for the nearby Horikita. She took a deep breath, preparing to yell at this intruder, before he without warning began doing hand signals. Catching herself to watch closer in the event he was communicating with ASL, she blinked before suddenly, the man was gone. In his place, a wooden bench rested.

Manabu Horikita, somehow unbothered by this disappearance, continued as if nothing happened.

Meanwhile, Ayanokouji now stood in the crowd, patiently listening.

The day ended quickly enough, and so Ayanokouji went to Keyaki Mall, preparing to shop for essentials.

A yelling from the front alerted him to the presence of two people- the classmate with red hair, and the girl he had almost shattered the mind of earlier. They both stood in line at the checkout, but it seemed as though red-hair forgot to bring his card for transactions.

Ayanokouji stepped forward.

The red haired student looked at him angrily in response.

"Hey, what do you think you are-" Suddenly, he was stopped from speaking.

Ayanokouji had fixed him with a calm gaze, pressing a single finger to his lips. He stared into his classmates' eyes. Reassuring.

The red-hair dude, or as Ayanokouji had now determined, Sudo, was beyond confused.

"What are you-" His second attempt stopped when it had hardly began.

"Shhhh. Everything will be okay." Casually placing his own groceries on the counter with one hand, Ayanokouji swiped his own card for the both of them. The cashier, who stared at this duo, dumbfounded, began blushing with secondhand embarrassment.

Ayanokouji, having pacified (read: "awkwardly seduced") Sudo, leaned over the counter, before snapping his fingers in front of the cashier.

"Mind wipe. Clear." He spoke with an entirely monotone voice, more so than ever before. The cashier collapsed briefly.

Ayanokouji left, gently sliding his finger away from Sudo's mouth and walking casually out. Sudo, in a state of utter confusion, walked straight home with his groceries, mumbling words to himself in delirium.

Horikita Suzune, one of the top honors students of the school, stared as Ayanokouji left. While she may have been imagining it, she could have sworn he winked at her on his way out. Knees nearly giving out for reasons even she could not identify, ones that defied all her normal behaviors, she weakly checked out and trailed after Ayanokouji, who went back to his dorm with a wider route. His hair swayed in the nonexistent wind as he maintained this relaxed walk.

Slapping herself into reality, Horikita looked ahead of herself again. This time, nobody was to be found. She sighed in relief that this was all a delusion.

This day must have wrought havoc on her head. A good nights rest, and she'd be back to her usual psyche. Tomorrow would be a normal school day.

She returned to her dorm.

Ayanokouji perched on his dorm room window, admiring the view. It had been an interesting day, and he identified several unique individuals worth studying further. Looking at the other nearby windows, he watched a blonde haired man, also from his class, open the window of their dorm and lean their upper body out into the breeze. Staring briefly, Ayanokouji felt like he had a good grasp of what kind of person that individual might be.

Another interesting specimen.

One of many of the people he noted today. Someone he felt like he could almost relate to on some level. Why, he was not quite sure. But he didn't need to know yet.

For once in his life, he had some time to himself. Time to be spent however he wished.

"I think... maybe tomorrow I'll focus on some newer places. Perhaps I'll check out the library, or maybe the club center.  Wasn't there something about a fair? That sounds interesting..."

As he pondered to himself, other students scuttled around far below, as the sky began to darken. Even the most energetic, excited newer kids would be sure to retire to their rooms early today. This was the mark of something new.

One student stopped at the entrance to that dorm building staring up at the person crouched on the outside of their window. Her strawberry-blonde hair swayed as her blue eyes took in the sight.

What a confident guy...

As she observed, he seemed to take notice of her, causing him to salute before slipping back into his room. She smiled in amusement before continuing to her room.

As she left, Ayanokouji realized something. He should bring somebody with him to the club fair.

And, having few candidates in mind, he decided on his target. Who better than the random person he knew nothing about?

Exactly. Nobody, because he literally knew nobody personally.

Mind made up, he decided to settle for the night.

Tomorrow, he would go to the club fair. The day after? The library.
