"Whoa. Whoa. Whoa." Mike sighed, pulling me into his apartment at two in the morning. "Did you say what I think you did?"
I nodded and gripped his shirt tightly in my fingers. All the memories and experiences came back in frightening detail. The only person that relieved the pain was Mike. Maybe because he was there?
"I r-r-remember '87!"
I wasn't crying, but I was in shock and emotional distress. Absolutely everything that Ronan had shared with me from my past was now embedded inside of me.
The vent. The chloroform Randy's dad had used to knock us out. The chains and tears. The sight of my friends being shoved in a suit when they were still alive. The memory of being rescued by Randy. The memory of Randy's dad getting his head bit by Foxy/Rebecca because he had tried to attack Mike.
Everything seemed to make sense now.
"Really? Everything?" He asked, slamming the door behind us. I nodded and took refuge on his couch. I was so preoccupied in thought that I forgot to take off my shoes.
"What happened? Can you talk about it?" He asked again. His eyes were confused, his voice was interested, and his expression was worried. All these emotions led me to one outcome.
"Yes, b-b-but do you remember anything either?"
Mike bit his bottom lip and raised his downcast eyes. He nodded. "I can't tell you what I remember. It's too much."
"Okay." I whispered, squeezing my eyes shut. After this, everything made sense.
Randy's motivation to kill us. His hatred towards Mike and...just everything. That sort of explains why the animatronics weren't as violent towards me but...why Mike?
"Hey, Mike?" I asked. He looked down at me and raised an eyebrow. "I think a couple of ghost boys had a crush on me."
Mike looked unamused...as if he knew the whole time. "You're just starting to figure it out? 'Cause before you showed up, a robot chicken girl had the hots for me too ya know."
"Chica? Really?" I giggled, covering my mouth to keep from laughing. "I never expected that."
"Yeah, well, I never expected to have three dead guys fighting for my spot as your boyfriend." He said. I just rolled my eyes and looked around the apartment. It seemed emptier.
"Oh, that?" He asked, motioning to the space. "I've gotta move out. Now that my Mom...ya know...Macy's gotta move in with Rachel. Since there's only two rooms I figured it's for the best."
Hmmm. Moving out? Someone else I knew just moved out too.
