Keefe's POV

"Ready to go to Havenfield, Foster?" Keefe asked Sophie, as they were both getting ready for the Christmas gathering. "I'm so excited!" Sophie replied back, giving Keefe a hug. Kenric was wearing a flannel with red and black squares, and Sophie and Keefe were wearing the same thing. The Sencen family were wearing matching clothes, and it was very cute. "I can't wait to see Grady and Edaline!" Sophie exclaimed again, excitedly. "Same," Keefe mumbled. Keefe was still remembering the times when Grady was mean to him, and calling him "That Boy". Keefe shivered, not wanting to relive those times. "You okay Keefe?" Sophie asked him, her facial expression looking caring and confused. She waved her hand in front of his eyes, and he blinked. "Yeah Foster, I'm okay," Keefe replied to Sophie, giving her a smile. "Alright then!"

When the Sencens arrived at Havenfield after a short light leap, they heard a roaring sound. It was Verdi, Havenfield's permanent resident that was a T-rex. "Verdi, it's time to eat your food," a voice called at the dinosaur, but Verdi wouldn't listen. She roared even more, and louder each time. "How may I help?" Sophie asked her mom, as she ran to see what was going on. "Sophie! I didn't realize that you came!" Edaline exclaimed, as she ran to hug Sophie. What about me? Keefe wondered. "Is Grady inside?" Sophie asked her mom, and Edaline nodded. Sophie rushed into the house, but before stepping inside, she took a quick glimpse at the Panakes tree. It brought Sophie memories, and also Keefe. "Wait up!" Keefe called as he tried to run after Sophie, but unfortunately, Sophie was faster. "How—are—you—-so—fast?" Keefe asked Sophie between wheezes. She shrugged, and grabbed Kenric from Keefe's grasp.

"Sophie?" Grady said, as he turned to her, and gave her a big hug. His grip was probably stronger than Edaline's. "You're cooking?" Sophie asked Grady, and he nodded. "Your mother was quite busy with Verdi and the gorgodon, so I told her that I decided to cook Christmas dinner," Grady explained. Kenric just looked at Grady intently, and then Grady realized that he had not said hi to Kenric. "Kenric! You're such a big boy! Look how much you've grown!" Grady said to Kenric, and he smiled. Keefe decided to eat one of the pieces of mallowmelt from the table, but before he could eat one, Grady stopped him. "Keefe, after everyone is at the table, you can help yourself, alright?" Keefe just nodded. After Edaline finished taking a shower, they all sat at the table, and began to say their blessings. After that, they dug into the food. Everyone except Kenric had second helpings. "Sophie, Keefe, you both would not believe that happened at work yesterday!" Grady exclaimed, as he told them both that he got promoted to the highest rank in the nobility.

Grady was almost technically a councillor. "That sounds super exciting!" Sophie said, as they all had a toast with fizzleberry wine. Kenric wanted to try some, but Keefe refused to let his son have any until he was an adult. Then, it was time to open presents! Keefe got an ugly sweater from Edaline that said "My hair is better than yours!" , and Keefe laughed. "Thanks Edaline!" He told her, as he gave her a hug. Keefe got a new pathfinder from Grady, since his pathfinder that he stole from his father a long time ago was old. It was not working that well. "This means a lot to me, Grady," Keefe told him, as he thanked him, and gave him a pat on the back. Sophie told Keefe to hug Grady, but Keefe said that it would be awkward. After Kenric opened his presents and got really cool toys, there was one final present under the tree, and it was from Keefe to Sophie. "Here, Sophie. This present was from me to you." "Aww, thanks Keefe," Sophie told him, accepting the gift from his hands. Inside the gift was a white colored necklace with fancy jewels.

"Thanks Keefe," Sophie told him, as she gave him a kiss. Edaline had that goofy smile that Keefe remembered too well, and Grady had a grin on his face. Keefe helped Sophie put it on her neck, and she looked in a mirror, and immediately loved it. "This necklace would go really well with that bracelet that I gave you not that long ago, right?" Keefe asked Sophie. "Oh yeah, it actually would." After a great night at Havenfield, it was time for the family to go home. Kenric was exhausted, so Keefe put him to bed as soon as they got back to Moonridge. Before Keefe and Sophie went to sleep, they each told each other good night. Keefe held Sophie's hand, and whispered, "Merry Christmas Sophie Sencen." "Merry Christmas, Keefe Sencen," Sophie whispered back, as they both fell asleep, happy to have a great time with their family.
