A Sokeefe Christmas

Chapter 4: December 23rd in the Lost Cities

Keefe's POV

This was the day before Christmas Eve! Keefe's was wondering what he should do: give Sophie her Christmas present early, or wait until Christmas Day. On December 25th, the Sencen family would go to Havenfield and celebrate Christmas with Grady and Edaline. Edaline loved to see Kenric, and she would probably gush on and on about how tall Kenric's been getting. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Grady would just give Keefe a stare, which would freak him out. After all, this was the first Christmas ever in the Lost Cities. When Keefe woke up, he found a note on his nightstand from Sophie.

It read,

"Hey Keefe. Good morning. If you're reading his right now, I am in the Forbidden Cities, on a mission with Mr. Forkle. Please do not come and try to find me, because I know how well you did last time, except that it wasn't me fleeing, but you. I love you very much, and take care of Kenric for me. I hope to see you soon! I miss you so much! Love, Sophie."

Keefe was basically speechless, as he cried on his bed. He didn't want Sophie to leave him, unlike the last time, when he left her. Was Foster still trying to search for Elysian? Keefe thought, until he remembered that Elysian was—he didn't know what to call it. Sophie had left Kenric with Keefe, once more, while she was in the Lost Cities. Keefe then went outside of his room, and smelled a delicious aroma of something minty mixed with hot cocoa. It turns out, Sophie made a new flavor of mallowmelt. Kenric was happily eating bits of the new mallowmelt with a fork. After Keefe and his son finished breakfast, Keefe dropped Kenric off at Dex's house, so he could play with Dex's son, Darek, who was also 2 years old. "Show me Sophie," Keefe said to his Imparter, but Sophie's face didn't fill the tiny square-shaped screen. He then remembered seeing Sophie's Imparter on her nightstand, and then chucked his own Imparter across the floor.

How could he be so stupid to not realize that Sophie didn't bring her Imparter?

Keefe didn't know why. Keefe then heard a tune coming from Sophie's iPod; he'd never heard it before in his entire elvin life. Keefe then realized that it was a Christmas song, and he sang along to it using his Polylot abilities. After Keefe listened to the songs about a hundred times, he turned it off, and then decided to call Tam. "Show me Tam," Keefe said into his Imparter, and the square-shaped device filled with Tam's face. "Why did you call me," Tam asked Keefe through the Imparter. "I don't know why, Tammy Boi. I just have nothing to do, I'm bored, so that's why I called you." If Tam thought that was an insult, he kept his mouth shut. "How's Sophie?" "She's... I don't know how to explain," Keefe admitted. He then told Tam the story about Sophie going to the Lost Cities with Mr. Forkle without him. Tam had no words after Keefe finished saying the story. "Just wow," Tam told Keefe. Tam was with Glimmer, (or Rayni, since you probably found out that it's her name in Stellarlune), and they were trying to think how they would take down the Neverseen once and for all.

After Tam said goodbye to Keefe, and hung up on the Imparter, Keefe light leaped to Dex's house to pick up Kenric, since it was getting late. Keefe then found Sophie back at Moonridge when he got back with his son. "Foster!" Keefe said, as he ran to give her a hug. Sophie hugged him back. "I missed you so much!" "I missed you a lot as well," Sophie replied. The next day, Sophie caught up Keefe on a lot of things that happened in the Lost Cities while she was there. She told Keefe that there was another accident about the Neverseen threatening the humans, and the missing islands were recovered. Keefe began worrying, and Sophie must have known, because she said," But we don't have to worry. Do you know why? Because tomorrow's Christmas Eve!" Keefe immediately got excited, because this was going to be his first Christmas ever! And, he was spending it with Sophie! This was going to be the best day of his life!
