SUMMARY- Boruto hated rain. But one incident changed his perception altogether.

===========================================================================

Boruto hated rain.

Since childhood, the blonde brat hated rainy season. It was all so gloomy and dark and in addition, he wasn't able to venture outside. All muddy and wet; he didn't even liked the sound of it. Of course, the 17 years old understood that everybody had their own opinions and preferences- but still he couldn't analyse the mindset of people who preferred it.- which was like more than half of the population of not only Konoha but the whole of the world.

Who were these people?

But things like these were least of his concern. The fact that actually made him irk was that his own childhood friend- the famous "Uchicha Princess" was one of those people who like---No

Sarada loved rain.

So, it wasn't a suprise when she didn't sulk like him when they were struck in a heavy downpour while on their way back to The Leaf after a successful mission. Instead, she was delighted.Boruto knew she had loved rainy days since she was a child- the black clouds and the sound of pouring droplets were sight to behold and music to her ears, as she told him once.

"Let us just teleport--------"

"NO! I want to stayyy....." Sarada just pouted like a little child. A very very rare sight. But amusing too.

Especially for her comrade Uzumaki.

But she didn't care for once and ran out of the small cave that sheltered them-just two of them. And in blink of an eye, there she was- in the middle of the rain: drenching herself.

She loved the music of the raindrops falling.

He loved her sweet giggles.

At that very moment- he clenched his heart and shrugged the beautiful yet unknown feeling he caught at that very second. They were just childhood friends who were acquainted only because their parents were best friends.

Right?

It started to rain more heavily. They needed to reach the village as soon as possible. The blonde tried to convince the girl to leave - shouting from the cave in hopes that his voice will find its way towards her amidst the clatter of the rain. But it didn't. Reluctantly, he had to leave his safe haven to drag her out himself. He just took few long strides and reached out for her hand. He gripped her wrist and pulled her towards him; almost making her fall in his arms.

And his heart skipped a beat.

In front of him was not "The Fearless Uchicha Princess" everyone knew about. It was Sarada- his Sarada; whose long jet black hair was wet and loose, whose shiny onyx eyes shone with suprise

and then with shyness-an odd vulnerability within them. Her cheeks had a red tint on them.

Was it her fault?

She was standing in a close proximity with her friend she had known for all her life- who was now a man, with his beautiful ocean- blue eyes transfixed on her, and his strong arms holding her so close to him; giving her a sense of security and warmth.

When they were all drenched

In the rain.

Was it her fault?

Sarada's heart almost exploded when suddenly his free hand cupped her cheek; his thumb caressing it lovingly. They didn't know why but surprisingly they didn't break the eye contact

even for once.

"Stay" Sarada's whisper made Boruto's heart swell. He said nothing. He just leaned in and kissed her forehead.

All when they were drenched

In the rain.

Yes, they wanted more

So much more

But that day; the same fateful day when sweet heavens conspired and brought both of them together at that present spot, at that moment, they were grateful. Grateful for having each other by their side; under the roaring clouds and falling rain. And maybe little anxious too- anxious of losing it all if they took one step any further. So they just stood in middle of the rain- playing it's famous melody as if congratulating them.

Now, Boruto loved the rain too.
