"I'll help the doctors take care of both of you, so please, trust in me and my work."

A light blonde girl said politely at the hospital door as she bowed at both boys in the room. As her hair, tied in a ponytail, fell over her shoulder, the light pink hide under it showed, catching the attention of the black haired boy as he carefully raised his body from the bed to sit. With a raised eyebrow and an unexpressed face, the boy with white hair looked attentively at the girl, lowering his eyes to her right bandaged thigh, raising it to her multiplied bruised right arm until he looked directly in her eyes. The girl felt slightly uncomfortable as she felt observed and gripped the clapboard against her chest.

"Did you leave the psychological ward?"

The white hair boy asked seriously, in a monotonous tone making the girl shake her head frantically in denial and clearing her throat, taking the clapboard and pointing to the identification hanging on the pocket on the left side of her medical gown.

"I'm Dr Karube Kaida... well... I'm not a doctor yet but I'm studying for it so..."

Kaida said low as she pressed her lips together, fighting the pout that started to form as the boy hummed with a nod. His eyes left the girl for a few seconds, stopping in the boy laying on the bed next to his as the second one kept all his attention on the girl as if he was hypnotized by her.

"I told you to rest, Karube. You have not recovered yet."

A middle aged man scolded the girl, making her scratch the back of her neck without leaving the clapboard as it hung in her hand next to her left leg.

"I know, Nakamura sensei. But after the accident downtown, all the help is welcomed and I'm in the room near this. I can help the team even if slightly. I won't overdo myself, I promise."

The girl smiled and balled her free hand convicted as she bowed respectfully at the man as he sighed defeated before nodding and patting her head, leaving the room. Kaida took a deep breath as she smiled widely and looked attentively at the clapboard as she analyzed the first paper before lifting it to read the second as she limped slowly to the white hair boy's end of bed.

"So Mr Chishiya, it looks like you are recovering well. If it keeps like this, you'll leave the hospital in no time. However, I will need to change the bandage on your chest and abdomen."

Kaida spoke friendly as she raised her eyes to look at the boy as he chuckled low and nodded with a small smirk, opening the shirt of his hospital pajama.

"I bet my internship was more advanced than yours..."

He mumbled curiously as he followed the girl's movements as she took the old bandages, cleaned carefully his wounds and changed to cleaned ones, getting her attention at his words.

"You are a medical student too?"

"Pediatric heart surgery."

Chishiya nodded as he explained to the girl, hearing her hum impressed and licking her lips as she saw his curious gaze on her while she got up and analyzed the clapboard of the other boy's.

"Orthopedics and traumatology. At least that's what I'm aiming for."

Chishiya whistled impressed as he nodded his head at the girl before tapping her shoulder supportively, pulling the curtain that separated the two beds. With a confused look, Kaida looked at the fabric as it closed in front of her face before shaking her head to dismiss the boy's attitude and preparing everything she needed to clean the other boy's burnt skin.

"Mr Niragi, I'll try my best to not cause you pain while taking the bandages and sterilizing your skin. So please, if you feel pain, let me know, I have time."

Hearing the boy laugh low, she blinked confusedly as the boy tapped lightly on the bed so she could sit and be more comfortable while helping him.

"Makes sense... after all, you are hospitalized as well, right? And please, no Mr."

Niragi explained the confusion to the girl as she gasped before laughing sweetly with a nod while carefully taking the bandages that covered half the boy's face.

"We were in the wrong place at the wrong time... all of us..."

She mumbled as she hid the sadness behind her smile as she took gauze and carefully and gently pressed it against Niragi's wounds as she attentively looked at her own movements.

"Did we meet before?"

He asked curiously, analyzed the girl mindfully as she unconsciously leaned towards him to see closely his wounds. As she turned her head slightly to face the boy, stopping her movements as she got caught by the boy's eyes, she felt her heart beat fast, probably from the proximity she unconsciously put herself into, or because his words strangely made sense to her. After his question, Niragi found himself looking at all the girl's face details as if he knew her for a long time but couldn't remember for as hard as he tried. She made him feel a lot of new yet somehow known feelings to him as it looked like the time stopped around them and the silence installed in the room as they both got lost in each other's eyes. The clearing of the girl's throat as she found herself deviating her eyes to the boy's lips and feeling embarrassed and her cheeks getting hot, she laughed awkwardly as she turned her attention again to his wounds, getting back to keep cleaning them.

"I think I would remember... maybe we saw each other on the street or something..."

She whispered unsure as she exhaled silently and discreetly, feeling shy and comfortable around the boy, trying to control her uneven breathing so he wouldn't understand. Niragi smiled sideways as he kept his eyes on the girl, he wanted to tease her, see her blush more, but he was slightly afraid it would make her go away rushedly. The way she was cleaning his wounds was familiar to him so he leaned on the headboard, feeling his body relax as he closed his eyes with a smile, appreciating that moment without even knowing why.
