"We'll be back, just stay here."

Karube spoke, a mix of authority and sweetness as he messed his sister's hair teasingly and leaned to kiss her forehead before starting to walk to the entrance of the game arena. As she stopped her eyes on Chota, he showed her a big smile that hid his fear for the upcoming game since he still was injured as he supported himself on Shibuki to walk.

"You look cute when you pout, every time Karube forbids you from doing something, right, Arisu?"

The boy laughed amused as he looked between the girl and their friend, as the girl didn't bother to hide the pout for being restrained from playing the game with them. She looked at the back of Chota and Shibuki as they walked to follow Karube, making her look at Arisu as he was still there.

"Your brother is right, Kai."

He spoke low, keeping his attention at the door of the game arena as the friends walked inside before averting his eyes to the girl with a determined smile.

"You still have visa days after our last game, you don't need to play this one. Me and Karube are there to help and protect Chota, so you don't need to worry. I promise we'll be back in no time, you'll see."

With those words, Arisu ran inside, leaving Kaida alone. She dragged her feet and sat at the stairs, sporting her arms in her bent knees as she remembered the game Arisu mentioned. Anxiety started to kick her as she recalled Karube got injured in the tag game that granted the three of them the five of spades card and a five days visa.

"I'm worrying for nothing, right? Arisu always finds a way to win the games so they'll be back..."

Kaida whispered to herself as she tried to calm down, raising her head to look at the starry night, tapping her foot unconsciously as she waited for her friends to come back safe and sound from the game. From time to time, she would look back in expectation of trying to see or hear something about the state of the game but without answers. She fought the tiredness and heavy eyelids, refusing to fall asleep before seeing them and afraid of who could appear with her guard down since she was in the middle of the street. Not aware of the time passing, Kaida hurriedly raised her body from the floor as the sun rays started to illuminate the sky. The absence of her brother and friends after hours in the game arena was leaving her even more anxious and she walked slowly to the entrance of the botanical garden, carefully opened the front door and peeked inside.

"Daikichi... Chota... Ryo..."

She called in a whisper, looking around from the small gap she opened and stopping her eyes in the turned off screen. The space was dark, no light illuminated it and that could only mean the game was ended. Narrowly, she dragged her feet inside the botanical garden with deep and slow breaths at every step while trying to find them.

"Did they miss me because the exit was on the other side?"

Kaida asked herself, walking more deeply into the garden as she now shouted their names, waiting for an answer from any of them, but only her voices echoed in what seemed an empty space. A metallic sound made her look at her feet, acknowledging the strange collar she ended up kicking. She leaned to take the device in her hand, analyzing it confusedly before widening her eyes at the realization. The collar looked similar to the ones the taggers were using in the spade game she, Karube and Arisu played, and those ended up blowing up their heads.

"Daikichi!"

She called desperately, throwing the collar to the middle of the high plants near her, running the space to find them. Tears formed in her eyes as she prayed mentally for them to be alright.

"It's no time to play, Daikichi... it's no fun at all..."

Kaida sobbed as she recognised the shirt of her older brother, seeing only his shoulder from behind a small wall. With the lack of answers from the boy, no teasing words or even a laugh of defeat, the girl dragged her feet once again to contour the wall so she could see her brother better and scold him for making her worried. Her body froze in fear and disbelief as she looked at the cold, lifeless and headless body of her brother.

"Daikichi..."

She mumbled between the tear, being the only thing she felt capable of doing at the moment as her hands balled next to her body while analyzing Karube. Falling on her knees, she cried out loud, cursing and shouting to everyone and no one at the same time. She had lost the only family she had in a wicked world of deadly games and looked like she was alone from now on in that place.

"You promised... you said you would be back..."

Kaida whispered as she dragged herself to Karube and lay her head on the boy's body, not fighting the tears and grabbing his necklace to take with her. Gripping tightly the object in her hand, she rove in the streets after hours inside the botanical garden, bidding her goodbyes to her brother and Chota, coming to the conclusion that only Arisu survived. She felt a mix of feelings about all of that, because he never got to her after ending the game. Out of guilt? Was Arisu so concentrated in the game that saw her as a nuisance to his purpose?

"You look lost."

A male voice woke her out of thoughts, making her stop in place. Without a drip of emotion in her, she lazily looked at her side to the owner of the voice. The boy was leaning against the wall near the convenience store door, resting, gracefully and powerfully, a gun on his shoulder as he looked at her from up and down with a grin. Kaida noticed the piercings in his nose and eyebrow glow with the still dim light around them before she scoffed weakly.

"Aren't we all?"

She rhetorically questioned the boy. Although she should be careful, Kaida felt that nothing more made sense. That boy could kill her there and now and she should just avoid him, but the numbness that took over her body was stronger, so if that was her last time in that world, so be it.

"I guess you are right."

The boy answered with an amused laugh, catching Kaida off guard, as she looked confusedly at him.

"Sometimes, we have to take risks. Not fearing death and risking it all, it's what will make you survive around here. At least, that's how I see it."

He shrugged without losing his smirk and kept his eyes at the girl as she hummed low at his words. Probably, he was right. Not caring could make her survive unless she wouldn't want to keep living.

"Hey, Niragi!"

Another man's voice rang from inside the store, making the black hair boy look at the slightly open door at the shout of his name.

"You know... we can always have fun if you... want?!"

Niragi trailed on his words as he looked at where the girl was after impulsing his body away from the wall. Looking around him, he wasn't able to find her, making him let out an excited chuckle as he walked inside the store.
