"Karube!"

A tall well dressed boy said with a big smile as he entered the room with a big bouquet of flowers, making the girl smile at him as she lowered the book she was reading.

"Oh... Arisu..."

She greeted the youngest as he showed her the flowers before analyzing her bed covered with textbooks. As he arranged the bouquet to put in a jar, changing the water in it, he laughed amused.

"Ryohei is right, you can't stop studying even when you are not okay."

Kaida laughed awkwardly at the boy's words, taking the papers scattered on top of her and organizing them neatly.

"There's not much to do to spend time when you are the one hospitalized, so keeping my mind occupied helps me."

She answered with a shrug, tilting her head at the boy before looking at the door as she expected something.

"Did you come to visit Ryo? I went to his room sometimes but I think we are mismatched."

With a hum and a nod, the younger brother of Arisu crossed his arms as he looked at the opened door, averting his eyes to the girl.

"He's fine. Well... he's still living in survivor syndrome because of your brother and Chota, but he's doing better now. I think that Usagi girl is helping him somehow."

Kaida hummed, showing her best smile at the boy, hiding the sadness but ending up sighing deep, catching the attention of the boy.

"He didn't come to see you, right?"

His smile changed to a worried expression as he saw the girl shake her head with a small shrug, trying to reassure the boy and herself for the absence of Arisu.

"It's okay, actually. Probably he feels guilty for what you said."

Avoiding eye contact with the boy in her room, feeling her eyes sting for the tears that started to form, she bit her lip and took all her books close to her chest.

"I'm happy he found someone that makes him forget the event that brought us here. It's good to have company and someone that makes us feel safe. I'll see if I can be helpful with the medical team."

She said rushedly, putting her slippers and arranging her robe before storming out of the room and into the corridors. As she took several deep breaths and looked at the ceiling in an attempt to not cry, she remembered the day she confessed to her brother that she had a crush on Ryohei. The boy always made her laugh and was, at some point, her safe place beside her brother, and even if she felt that at the moment the feeling was not as strong as before, it still hurt her how he suddenly seemed to forget her existence.

"I always heard pretty girls shouldn't cry."

She heard a male voice from behind her, making her look at the owner and laughing weakly at his words.

"Glad it worked, it was a shot in the dark."

Niragi laughed as he looked at Kaida's subtle change, with loose crossed arms while leaning with his left side on the doorframe of his room.

"Sure... I bet you tried it before."

Kaida joked as she turned to look better at the boy as he hummed thoughtfully before shaking his head.

"I really never tried it... at least not that I remember."

He shrugged with a smile before tilting his head inside the room and looking briefly at the curtain between his and Chishiya's bed.

"Need some company? I could use someone to talk or spend time with. I think my roommate is avoiding me."

He said teasingly as both heard a stern 'you can bet on it' from Chishiya inside the room. Niragi laughed low and amusedly, looking again at the girl as she laughed too, nodding her head before gasping.
