While we were at the doorstep and unlocked the door, we saw my aunt was sitting on the sofa and chatting with one of my friends. I was a bit confused. Am I hallucinating or daydreaming? I took my time and accepted the reality as I smiled after looking at her. She was so pleased to see me.

We did the formal greetings. At that very moment, she stared at our luggage.

She questioned us, "Where have you both been to?"

I said, "We just came back from a university camp."

She emphasised, making it to appear as an important question

"So you and Emma live here?"

I was about to say but,

Emma replied back

"No. She lives with Olexander. I live in the opposite flat with my boyfriend. Just in case of an emergency, they handed me out an extra key for use."

I forgot to tell Emma that my aunt didn't know that Olex and I shared the same flat. She was a bit surprised after knowing it. For some moments, she didn't stop looking at us. It appeared as if staying together was a heinous crime.

Turning towards Emma, she proceeded with another question.

"Only couples live here?"

She said, "Not exactly, it is a shared apartment. So, friends or couples live together here."

After a moment or two, a voice called her out and she left, leaving the three of us in the middle of a conversation that had the potential to change my life.

To divert the topic,

Olex said, "It's almost noon. Let's prepare some lunch."

It was a mere excuse to rush into the kitchen to get rid of the situation. After a gap of a few hours, we were having lunch. She took the initiative to start a conversation to make it feel less awkward.

She said, "So, you stay with him for tasty food. Isn't it?"

I had to agree as I wasn't good at it.

"It's okay to live in the same flat but don't build up expectations for each other."

Enlarging her pupils, she emphasised her statement.

"Sanaina, you know about our family right? they will object to it."

I agreed with her, so I had to nod my head.

The instant I turned to Olex, he looked bewildered that I would bid a goodbye to him the very moment, it was clear by looking at his face. I signalled him with a quick blink of an eye that everything is alright and nothing is gonna happen according to his imagination. To our bad luck, she noticed our signals. She pretended to clear her throat, to disturb our eye contact. And again, we concentrated on our food. After all these events, one thing that made me happy was that she was impressed by his culinary skills and asked him to teach me about cooking as I was least familiar with it.

As she was about to board the taxi,

She said looking at both of us, "You both seem to be good friends, sorry, I doubted both of you. Bye, and take care of yourselves."

We both smiled at her and did goodbyes as she sat inside the taxi and was about to leave. When the taxi left the lane, we both finally took a sigh of relief. I felt guilty as I hid the truth about our relationship.

From the next day onwards our university resumed, so life was getting back to normal. Days were passing by and our love for each other grew intense. Each day passing by, I fell more into him. He is very friendly, romantic and understanding. What else would a girl expect from a guy? But at the same time, a person also carries bad traits with the good ones and in Olex's case, it was instant aggressiveness, fondly known as short-tempered. But staying with him for such a long time helped me to tackle the problem. It always worried me about confessing our love in front of our families, but I had trusted him and believed that we would accomplish the task some or the other day.
