I turned over and shut my alarm clock off. I slowly tried to got out of bed but I really had no desire to get out of bed today. Lifting my head up I looked around my barely unpack room.  I wasn't at all ready to be surrounded by people, especially ones I didn't know. I transferred and moved here to be closer to my family but my family didn't know that yet.

I moved here with the intent to reconnect with them but when I got here I had second thoughts. I don't really want to be sucked back into the drama that drove me away from Mystic Falls in the first place. I did miss my old friends that I grew up with but I haven't talked to them in years.

I shook all of that off and went to go to brush my teeth. Then quickly ran back to my dorm to find some clothes. I threw on a some leggings, a purple long sleeve shirt, and black low top converse. My hair was still curled from last night so I just ran my fingers through it, after I put some deodorant on, sprayed some perfume and grabbed my bag.

Grabbing my bag, I locked the door behind me. I raced to English Lit on the other side of the campus. Luckily I got there just in time. The rest of the day went by pretty fast. Mostly due to the fact I just kept to myself the whole day. Before I knew it I was off to my job.

I wasn't scheduled to work but the other girl, Liv, called in sick. Her brother died a couple of days ago. Her brother, Luke was actually a friend of mine. I couldn't believe it. He was the first friend I made here after I moved a few months ago from New Orleans. I plan on going to see how she's doing after my shift.

I got in right on time and went to the bar. After cleaning up a little, I started my shift. An hour into my shift it  started to get busy. I went to the left and took an order from this guy who had been sitting there a little while. I looked at him for a second.

"What can I get for you?" "A shot of Tequila?" I took a shot glass out and poured him a shot. He drank it and asked for another, then took it fast. "How many shots do I have to take for you to talk to me?" He smirked. "I don't have the time and we don't have enough alcohol".

I went to take another guy's order. Then came back to his side of the bar. "Do you want another shot?" I asked. "Only if you'll talk to me" "It's really busy" I answered. "Come on, just do it" I heard a guy next to him say. "Either talk to him or get me drunk cause I don't want to hear this all night" the guy continued.

"Okay fine" I said turning to face him. I took out five shot glasses. "Five shots, five questions. And none of this Tequila. Whiskey" "Fair enough" he agreed. I poured him the shots and waited for him to take them.

He took one. "Okay your name." "Ara" I answered. "I'm Kai" He smiled and took another shot. "What's your favorite color?" I laughed "My favorite color? I give you five questions and you use one of them to find out what my favorite color is?" He shook his head yes."Its actually an important question" "Fine purple."

He took another shot and asked "Do you have a boyfriend?" I rolled my eyes. "I knew that was going to be one of the questions". He smirked waiting for me to answered. I looked into his blues eyes for a second. "No, I don't."

His smirked grew bigger as he took another shot. "Why did you completely reject me?" "Because I'm a bartender and this isn't the first time someone with a nice smile has tried to charm me, " I squinted my eyes at him. "A nice smiled huh." I rolled my eyes again. "Last question, and don't make it something stupid." " I won't," he said taking the last shot of whiskey.

"What time do you get off?" "At ten," I replied. "I'll come back then." " How do you know I'll want to see you again?" I asked. "Well do you want to see me again?" "Is that another question?" He smiled a bit. "That's not a no" he said leaving.

The next couple of hours went by super fast. I cleared everyone out by ten. I started to clean up the bar and washed the glasses. Kai was no where to be found and that was that. I just was going to finish up cleaning and go back to my dorm.

I heard the door open and yelled "Sorry sir we're closed". I heard footsteps and the person sat at the bar. "Sir we're closed," I said turning around to see Kai. "Can I have a shot of whiskey?" He smirked. "Sorry sir I already cleaned all the glasses and I was just about to head out of here."

"I'll settle for walking you home" he smiled. "Fine, but only because that was pretty smooth" We both laughed. I got my purse and locked up behind us. "So what are you studying?" He asked. "Well I'm studying criminal justice." "Wow that's legit," he chuckled.

"What brings you here?" I asked him. "Well I'm just here to visit a friend" he said. "Well where's your friend?" "She ditched me." I felt a chill and I chattered for a second. "It's a little cold, here take my jacket." "No, it's okay we're almost inside," I said walking a little fast to the door. I got my key out and unlocked the building. "What did you think when you first saw me?"

"Trouble. You looked like trouble, I could see it in your eyes," I said. "Oh." "I didn't say I steered clear of all trouble." I looked at him as he got his smirk back on his face. Kai walked behind me as we went up to the floor my dorm was on.

We got to my door and just stood there for a minute . "Thanks for waking me up to the door," I thanked him. He smiled "No problem, good night." he said turning around to walk away.

I grabbed his arm, pulled him back to me and kissed him. I put my hand on his face as our lips separated. "Why did you do that?' He asked. "Cause you weren't going to," I smirked. I looked in his eyes again.

"Are you going to come in?" I asked. He shook his head yes and kissed me as I unlocked the door. I dropped my purse and he closed the door behind him.
