Mewtwo had awoken fitfully in its reign of confusion. It had every reason to, as it was just in nature and now it's in a building of some sort with some random person staring at it.
"Where am I?" Mewtwo asked frightfully.
"You're currently inside my bedroom," Alec replied calmly. "I saw you out in that field, and it was terrible. You had cuts and bruises everywhere, and you were bleeding profusely. I had to call my friend to get you somewhere safe. I got you here, and I had to quickly bandage you up. That white wrapping stuff is your bandages. Don't touch them, because those are the only things keeping you from bleeding out as we speak."
"You kidnapped me?" Mewtwo responded angrily, its eyes aglow with bad intentions. "I oughta-"
"Hold on!" Alec exclaimed, trying to survive the morning. "I was trying to save you, otherwise you'd have been dead." His face went from nervous to downcast, and his tone became more serious. "I've been to Cinnabar before. I've seen the lab. What I saw absolutely horrified me. I saw all types of Pokémon in that lab subject to testing that I could only describe as torturous. The worst thing I saw was several Pokémon and even a fucking toddler inside these glass incubation tubes. I heard they were trying to clone these Pokémon, so I asked them why. They told me it was to promote good in the world, but I knew it was a load of bullshit. I was fourteen then. I was fifteen when I heard the news that the lab was destroyed when you broke free and wrecked the place. All the news stations made it seem like you were some monster, some scientific experiment gone fatally wrong. I agreed with what you did. Don't worry, Mewtwo. You're safe with me."
"Why should I believe you? You are a human, after all."
"Well, first of all, that's racist. And second of all, not all humans are bad. You were unlucky enough to be around the worst of us. Think about this; if I were so bad, would I have saved you? Wouldn't I have just left you to die?"
"You could've saved me just because you wanted to use me in battles."
"Do I look like I have any Poké Balls to trap you in? I have never caught, nor do I ever intend to catch a Pokémon for the sole purpose of battling them. I'm not that kind of person. Trust me, Mewtwo. I would never do anything to hurt you. Now, I recommend you rest up, as moving should be painful for about twelve hours, I assume."
"Fine," Mewtwo doggedly stated, knowing that it was either this or death. "Just know that I'm only doing this to preserve my life."
"And that's what I'm trying to do as well. Look, I know that the scientists failed to endow you with a compassionate heart. But I'm sure you'll open up to me and get comfortable with me soon enough. The wounds should be scabbed in about six-ish hours. In the meantime, rest up."
"How do you just know all of this?" Mewtwo questioned.
"Well, when your mother's a doctor you naturally know this type of stuff. You hungry?" Alec responded. He had prepared a breakfast of peanut butter and banana oatmeal.
"I'm fine, thank you." Mewtwo stated, still wary of the human.
"Suit yourself. I made another bowl, so let me know if you change your mind at all."
The rest of the day went on and Mewtwo was very standoffish and hesitant to trust Alec. Despite his best efforts, Alec hadn't cracked through Mewtwo's cold heart yet. At this point, Mewtwo was unbandaged and could move without pain. Mewtwo would go without acknowledging Alec's existence until the next morning, when Alec brewed coffee.
"What is this brown liquid?" it asked curiously.
"It's called coffee." Alec responded. "Many humans drink it in the mornings because its caffeine content helps them feel more alert and productive throughout the day. You can have some if you want. I will warn you that straight coffee is quite bitter, so I recommend adding something like sugar or cream to help alleviate that."
Mewtwo didn't listen, and poured a cup of coffee without adding anything.
"Blegh!" Mewtwo interjected, spitting the sip of coffee he took into the sink.
"Told ya. Add some sugar so it doesn't taste as shitty." Alex responded smugly.
"Fine," Mewtwo said, doing what Alec told him to do. "You're right. This tastes so much better!" it exclaimed after taking another sip.
"Like I said, I'm not gonna do anything to hurt you." Alec said. Suddenly, a lightbulb went off in his head on something he thought he could do with Mewtwo. "I have an idea. I bought a DVD of the first season of a TV show called The X-Files. I think you'd like it."
Mewtwo didn't want to admit it was starting to let its guard down towards Alec, but it was intrigued about the show.
"Alright. What do I have to lose?" it said. Mewtwo than sat on the couch beside Alec and as the first episode played, Mewtwo couldn't help but be captivated by the intriguing storylines and characters.
"Want to watch another episode or is this not for you?" Alec asked, curious as to if his idea was successful.
"I will admit I was skeptical," Mewtwo replied. "But I really enjoyed it. Let's watch the next episode."
They then proceeded to binge the entirety of the season. Mewtwo and Alec were both fascinated by the show and Alec was glad he found something that he and Mewtwo could connect with. Afterwards, Mewtwo got curious about several things about Alec.
"Is it true that most adults have jobs they have to drive to?" it asked, as Alec hadn't left the house since Mewtwo had met him.
"Yeah, but I work from home, so I don't have to drive anywhere."
                         "Don't you have school?"
"I graduated from high school in June."
                         "Then what's your occupation?"
"I'm actually a big name on an online website called YouTube, where people share videos they create. I currently have almost five hundred thousand people who like my content enough to subscribe to it. That's how I was able to afford my own place at seventeen years old."
"I always thought that the age of majority in the United States was eighteen."
"It is. I got emancipated, so I legally became an adult before the age of eighteen. I had to do it as I couldn't take another second of living with my parents. My father died when I was ten, and my mom married my stepfather a year later. Only problem was my stepfather was extremely abusive towards me. I was beaten up constantly at home, and one day I just couldn't take it. I smashed a glass bottle over his head and told him I was moving out. I've been living on my own for only a few months. Maybe the real reason I saved you was because I could relate to you in a way. We were both severely abused in our early lives, just in different ways. This is why I'd never hurt you, Mewtwo. Because I know what it feels like."
Mewtwo was stunned. It never knew Alec went through that, and it started to feel a twinge of sympathy for him. The rest of the day went my as normal, until they were both sleeping. Alec had a very abnormal and terrifying nightmare. He and Mewtwo were captured and tortured before he watched Mewtwo die. Right as a bullet was shot in his temple, he woke up and almost screamed. Still breathing heavily, he regathered his bearings and looked around his bedroom until he saw Mewtwo shakings and trembling in its own bed.
"Is that why I had a nightmare?" Alec whispered to himself, so as not to wake Mewtwo. "Did its nightmare cause me to have one?" He tentatively got out of his bed and approached Mewtwo. He squatted down and place his hand on top of Mewtwo's. "Don't worry, buddy. You'll be okay." Mewtwo softly grasped Alec's hand, and the shaking slowly began to slow. Alec couldn't help but smile, as he knew that as much as Mewtwo didn't want to admit it, he had finally gotten Mewtwo to feel comfortable around him. He stayed holding Mewtwo's hand as he drifted back to sleep. It was the most comfortable sleep Alec had in a long time.
