He saw Willow at the door,"You told on me?"
She walked in closing the door,"It's your fault, you fuck!" She looked at him with anger in her eyes. He fell off the bed dropping his tissue he pushed himself back on the floor and she got closer to him.
He kicked, she grabbed his legs and held him to the floor holding his mouth. Tears rolled down his face like a waterfall. He squirmed around she tried holding him still, she changed her
expression,"Shhh...Shh..." She tried to silence him, till he stopped squirming,"We, have to leave, Okay? We have to get out of here, alright?"
She got up, walking out of the building, down the stairs he kept tripping, they walked down to the street, to the empty parking lot, and inside the car she started to drive, looking over he noticed her shaking.
He put on a new shirt she gave him. He looked down the entire time, in silence. When they left the city Lucky felt traped again. They both lit a cigarette, they sat in silence. "I mean it, I think." He looked out the window, breathing in the smoke and blowing out, he didn't want to think about what she said.
"You wanna know what you caused?"
She glanced at him,"I fucking killed that kid."Lucky turned his head and looked at her, she had a angry look, but she was still shakey. "He took me to the back room, told me to stay while he called the police. That's how I knew you tattled."
He put out his cigarette. He knew why she left so quick, they were running."I didn't even let him touch the phone before I slit his throat." Lucky had tears in his eyes, he couldn't help but feel guilty for his death.
"I killed him, I fucking killed him!" Willow was crying, her face red she was looking at the road trying to focus on driving.
They continued to driving, till the sun started to set. Lucky was tired, but he didn't want to sleep, Willow drove to a very small town, she drove to a drug store and went in by herself.
He sat in the car, it got cold quickly. When she came back, she had bottles of Bud Light. They sat in the car drinking in silence. "I think I meant it." Willow said without looking at him
"Meant what?" He knew she was waiting for a response.
"That I love you." He looked at her, her face was honest looking, she had a specific look on her face, he felt the need to respond, like she was waiting for one,"I... Love you too."
They both look down at their bottles. But for different reasons. The night sky darker than normal. They both had gotten drunk, which made it difficult to remember, but they turned on the radio, in the truck. The boy's body was found, his name was William Toplet, he was actually eighteen.
"You should listen to me, Baby, then other people might not get hurt again, okay?"
"Yes, I'll listen."
"I don't like to kill, its so hard to hide the body. Its so hard." She had a stupid smile on her face. They kept drinking, till they pasted out.
