This is one of those short-but-extremely-important chapters :)
Do enjoy :)

(does anyone actually listen to the music I put up here haha, because I'm sorry I can't think of any in particular for this chapter.)
Chapter Thirty-Five
~Nobody's POV~
Kyle has no idea what Thea's cryptic message means.
"Although it's unusual in the fact that she's actually agreeing I'm right about something," he comments.
Kyle has gotten back from Boston, and while Steve and Bruce are holed up in Stark Tower, on the phone with several government agents who had been interested in the case, the rest are in Max's apartment, spread across the sofas or lounging around the kitchen. It's night, and the television is on mute in the background (football reports). Jack is sitting with Peter in front of the TV, fiddling with his fingers and giving Kyle a rather accusatory look.
"You have to know what it means. Thea apparently thought you would."
"Well I don't," retorts Kyle, who is leaning against the counter, Emmaline next to him, "Unless you have any ideas about what she's trying to tell us. She gave you a clue."
"Yes, and unlike you, I already unraveled my clue. Now, it's your turn. I thought you were supposed to be a bloody spy."
"I am a spy," says Kyle, "But Thea and I have had thousands of conversations. What the hell is this one supposed to refer to?"
"I don't know," says Jack, "It's your job to figure that out."
Kyle narrows his eyes at Jack (who looks extremely unperturbed), and Emmaline takes her boyfriend's hand.
"C'mon, think about it, Ky," says Clint, who is sitting next to Natasha across from the two boys. "The conversations with Thea right before she was taken. Was there anything in there that she said you were wrong about, but that you could be right about now?"
"Perhaps she was making a jest, but now, it could be a clue to her current wellbeing?" suggests Thor, who is looming in the shadows next to Max.
"No," says Kyle, closing his eyes tightly, trying to remember. "Unless you count how she was denying that she likes Jack."
"What?" Jack looks up quickly from where he has been tying and then untying his laces of his trainers.
Kyle rolls his eyes, "You know, 'does Jack like me', 'no, I don't like Jack', 'yes, you do, and he likes you back' conversation."
"What did she say?" asks Jack eagerly, "Does she-"
"Of course she likes you," says Kyle in an extremely patronizing voice, "And you like her too."
Jack crosses his arms, "When did I say that?"
"You asked me when I should ask her out," Kyle smirks as a tremor of laughs spreads across the room, causing Jack to turn a faint shade of pink, "Of course you like her."
"Well," says Jack hastily as Peter punches his shoulder, "Beyond that, anything else? Did she mention anyone else?"
"Nah, Jack, I don't think you have any competition. She didn't mention any other guys who-"
"I wasn't ruddy talking about that!"
Kyle chuckles, "Sorry, buddy. We just talked about Asgard politics."
