Hello! :) I hope you like this chapter ! :) It's a tiny bit of a filler, but at least you get to get some Angelique :)
Chapter Twenty-Six
~Nobody's POV~
Thea is in hysterics when the black mist swirling around them finally comes to a stop. She is sobbing and screaming partially undecipherable words, but words that are generally something to do with "witch", "silver", "no", and "why".
Unfortunately, if not surprisingly, Videl is not very good with hysterics. Particularly because they happened to land in some sort of public green, and therefore, Thea is drawing quite a bit of attention. Thankfully, the power of the Jaunt had prevented a spectacle of black mist on said public green, but it doesn't do anything for the loudness of Thea's panic attack.
Videl seizes her shoulders and shakes her, "Thea! Shut u-"
"What d-did she d-do to h-him?" she sobs, not paying him the slightest bit of attention, "What did she d-do! He's g-gone, he almost killed m-me and-"
"I will kill you if you do not shut up," snaps Videl, glancing around. Several people are staring.
"He-his eye-eyes! His EYES were-"
"Will you shut UP!?" Videl hisses.
"What di-did she d-do to him? He-"
Videl might have lost his temper completely if there hadn't been someone there who is very good at handling hysterics. As it is, Angelique swoops in, pushes an extremely vexed Videl aside, and instead of seizing Thea's shoulders and shaking her, she seizes Thea in a tight hug.
"Hey...hey, Thea," says Angelique in a soft, soothing voice, "It's okay, we're going to work this out, I promise, but shh, calm down, we need to get inside."
"She...she has him..." she cries, "She...his eyes."
"I know, I know," says Angelique, who actually does not know, "But let's get inside somewhere and calm down, and then we'll work out what to do. All right? Can you take a deep breath for me?"
Thea does, and by her third deep breath, she looks much calmer, or at least, she's not crying hysterically anymore. But her cheeks are flushed with pain.
Angelique stands, and looks around the green. "I know where we are," she says, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion, "This is Davidson. I went to college here."
"When I Jaunt, I do so on the memories and feelings of those around me," says Videl, looking at Thea with his arms crossed, "I must have latched onto yours."
Angelique nods and takes a deep breath of her own. "All right. There's a hotel nearby. It's just down that street and around the corner. I have a credit card, so I guess we could get-"
"You don't need to pay for it," says Videl.
"What? You have money?"
"No, I don't. We're not going to pay for it."
Angelique looks flustered. "Are you joking? That's illegal."
"And I don't live here. I have diplomatic immunity."
She stares, her nose wrinkling in irritation, "That doesn't mean you can just take stuff!"
"As a matter of fact, it does," Videl then adds with a smirk, "And by the way, have you
noticed, with all of your coddling, that Thea has a broken wrist?"
Angelique immediately ceases her nose wrinkling and flies back to Thea, "Oh my gosh, Thea, are you okay!?"
