Whisper (Evanescence)

~Thea's POV~

I'm cold. I'm so cold, and I'm also hungry. My arms are in pain, mostly because they are twisted terribly behind my back. I've screamed myself hoarse, and it hadn't even made a difference. The gag effectively shut me up. I've been in this little room all day, and haven't eaten anything, and haven't done anything else besides pull against the chains on the bed and scream.

But the only things my efforts have done are render my wrists raw and bleeding, and cause my throat to hurt. I expect it's night outside now, and I'm so, so tired, but I don't want to go to sleep.

When the door opens, I leap to my feet, and then am instantly yanked back forcefully by the chains. I try as hard as I can to get away from Loki, but he merely grabs my arm to stop me from trying to hit him, and then pulls the gag off of the gag with a hard tug. My voice is so hoarse, what I attempt to make a scream of fury actually comes out as a trembling squawk.

So instead, I kick him, hard, in the shins repeatedly. He catches my foot and sends me sprawling to the floor, which in turn causes my arm to be jerked back by the chains. I whimper from the pain. With a brutal yank, he pulls the manacles off of my wrists, and I grasp my tender, raw, bleeding skin.

Then, just as quickly, he moves my chin up so that, once again, I'm forced to look up at him. His green eyes are narrowed, but there is something unbelievably like both satisfaction and anger inside them. I kick him again, but he ignores it and touches the bruises on my cheeks, which have inflamed more throughout the day.

"Who knows?" he asks, his voice clipped.

I growl between my teeth and try to wrench my face from his hands, without success.

If I had thought that Loki would lose his fury, I was wrong. "Stop it," he snaps, pulling my hair so that I stumble back, nearly falling back onto the bed. "You're acting like a child."

His words, so familiar, sting.

"And you," I snarl, my voice raspy, "You're a beast!"

He growls, "Stop your insolence, Thea. Who knows about me?"

"Take me back to Earth."

He laughs, "Do you really think I am going to do that?"

"Then give me back my dagger!"

"So demanding," he whispers, leaning close to me, "Who kno--- THEA!"

My anger has gotten the best of me, and before I know what I'm doing, I slap his face. "You f*g bastard!"

His eyes narrow and I know that I have crossed a line.

I cry out as he pushes me roughly to the ground. When I try to scramble to my feet, he kicks my stomach, hard, sending me, gasping, back down.

I'm sobbing.

"Maybe this will teach you respect," he snarls. Loki bends down and, ignoring my shrieks, loops his arm around my waist, pulls me up, and slams me against the wall. Before I can say a single word, he slaps my cheek again, and then again.

I scream at him, kicking his shin, but it's useless. He's too strong.

"WHO KNOWS?" he roars.

"Let me GO!" I shriek, then wail as Loki slams me against the wall again, knocking my head so painfully, I see stars.

"Tell me who knows, or I will kill your entire family!"
