I curled up my fist and knocked on the heavy door in front of me. It took just a few seconds for someone to open it.

"Maddie" Gino stood there with his black tshirt and basketball shorts. I'd never seen him in something so casual before, but maybe that's because it was 9:00 o'clock at night on a Tuesday. But I couldn't wait any longer after my talk with Kendall to tell him what had happened. I could finally tell him I was ready for this.

He shut the door behind him quietly and walked with me towards the curb. I adjusted my jacket which covered my ballet leotard. When we reached the end of the curb we both took a seat on the pavement, a few inches away from one another.

"What is it, Maddie?" he said looking over at me.

Inside I was so happy, and I just couldn't wait to tell him. But I didn't know how to say it, where to start.

"If this is about Kendall. I said no, Maddie. I said no." He moved closer to me like he was pleading for me to understand.

"I know, I know" I reassured him.

"Well do you know why I said no?" he asked, but I didn't answer. For some reason a part of me was still unsure. My eyes locked with his and I waited hoping that he would answer his own question. Light breaths passed in and out of my mouth before he saved the moment.

"You" his voice was quiet but I heard him clear, "You" he repeated.

It was true then. I was the reason. I was the other girl, the girl that he liked. If it weren't for my absolute dire need to tell him the news, I probably would've kissed him again right there. But I controlled myself because for once I felt confident in the reality that we might be something. That in the future we wouldn't just be friends that kissed sometimes and that the dreams that I had would one day be real.

"I told Kendall everything." I revealed to him the purpose of my coming. I was scared that maybe he would be upset with me for telling her literally everything. But it was what had to be done if we were ever going to work.

"That's good. She's your best friend, she deserves to know everything. It was wrong of me to ever make you promise to not tell anyone about your first kiss. I'm not worried about it anymore. If I get to have you, then I'm willing to give up everything too."

"No more secrets Gino. I'm ready to-to"

"To be my girlfriend?" in his voice I could hear how nervous he was, but at the same time the words had come to him naturally. "I mean, will you, be my girlfriend, Maddie?"

"Yeah, yes." I couldn't control my awkward laugh that followed my answer. But I was just so happy. I was the happiest girl in the world.

This was my first fanfic and I had a really fun time writing it and getting feedback from everyone. Thanks to everyone who read it, I didn't know I could actually write something that people actually enjoy reading. My next fanfic is another Maddie fanfic and it's both similar to this story and completely different at the same time. It's called "Not A Small Town Girl" if you could give it a read that'd be great haha. If you like Jake Paul and Alissa Violet then you should definitely check out my newest Jalissa fanfic called "Logging Jalissa." Thank you! :))
