I found myself actually almost dozing off in his arms, my drowsiness beginning to become more overwhelming every minute. It wasn't even so much the time, it wasn't even that late... it was, no matter how much I dreaded admitting it, Justin wasn't a horrible person, or as horrible as I swore to myself after meeting him. There was just this security about being wrapped up inside his arms, so close we could almost hear eachother's heart beats say as much as we wanted to speak.
I instinctively pulled myself away, after finding my eyes closed for atleast a minute straight. He smirked, chuckling down at me as I looked up a him. I tried to read his eyes, to see what he was feeling, but they weren't glowing yellow or dull brown. They were just normal brown, like any other teenage boy.
"You know, you're alright," I found myself smiling as I slightly sniffled, bring my closed fists up to my eyes to wipe away the gunk that had gathered in the corners. This made his eyes brighten a little more, and another chuckle slipped away from his lips.
"You aren't half bad yourself... which isn't saying much," He laughed. I playfully kept a straight face, but he must've saw the corners of my lips turning upward, the supressed laughter too much to bare. "Nah, you're a good girl, Chase. I'm not a good boy, and you see... they just don't mix."
"You don't know me, just like I don't know you. Because everyone, even you, has their own dirty little secret." I replied, raising an eyebrow as our eyes met again.
He gulped, and I watched it slide down his throat. "Sometimes, there are things that are just not for other people to know. Other people, being you."
"You can't hide it from me forever, you know. I'm gonna figure this out, whether you want me to or not," I told him matter-of-factly, shifting my weight to my other foot as I observed his eyes. He looked unamused.
"You know, you remind me of the stars," He started. I nodded my head, signaling him to continue. 'You're so beautiful too look at from a distance, but you're so fucking dangerous to get close to."
I raised both of my eye brows, my hands perching on my hips. "Well, alrighty then Justin. If you want it to be dangerous to get close, then why don't you just look instead of touching?"
"I thought we—" He started, but both of us held our breath at a sound invading our ears. It was the sound of the front door opening. Holy shit... Dillon and Kye were home.
I felt my eyes widen, as Justin and I's met. "Don't worry, you're fine," He assured me. My hand lifted up to give him a caring brush on the bicep, which tensed up a little at the touch. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his room, and shut the door, then locked it behind us.
"This isn't one of your sharpest ideas," I told him, and he ignored my comment as he lead me to his bed side.
"You can sleep in my bed tonight. If you want, I'll sleep on the floor, or go downstairs or something, I don't really care. Your call," He pointed at the bed, and then glanced at me, making sure to make eye contact.
I knitted my eyebrows together. "Why would you do that for me? Shouldn't you be the one making me sleep on the floor?"
"Well yeah," He started, "But we're friends, remember? And I couldn't do that to a friend."
I felt my cheeks burn into a crimson shade. "Well, you're my friend too, and I would feel bad for sleeping in your bed."
He grinned as he looked toward his bed, then shoved his hands in his pockets. "Well, if we can't settle this... I guess we're just going to have to share."
If my cheeks hadn't already been at their maximum redness, they'd exceded it as I peered down at my feet. "Oh God, you know, I think I might be coming down with something, uh, cough... I really don't know if this is a good idea. I might be contagious,"
He laughed out loud, approaching me, and putting a strong hand on my should. "You don't have to be worried, Chase. I promise, I won't try to pull anything." He smiled, and I smiled back. As we turned toward the bed, I almost could've sworn I heard him mumble "Without your permission".
I took a minute in the bathroom to change into a comfotable blue t-shirt and black sweats, pulling my bangs out from being pinned back, so my chestnut colored hair was hanging freely. After coming back, I almost thought Justin had already fallen asleep in his bed, lying half way under the covers shirtless with grey sweatpants on.
I wiggled my toes as I stood in place, biting my bottom lip, finding my eyes lingering over his chest... then down to his abs, which were so fine you could smash a rock against it. One of his eye lids peeked open, frightening me so much I jumped a little. He chuckled as he opened his other eye, patting quietly on the space next to him.
It wasn't until then that I'd realized he had a single bed. "Are you sure there's even enough room in there?"
"We can make it work."
I causiously stepped forward, one step after another, until I was next to the bed, and willed myself to crawl under the covers with him. We faced eachother, and for some reason I just couldn't pull away from his eyes. They were so consuming, and so warm, so tantalizing.
I flashed him a small grin before gently closing my eyelids, my muscles completely relaxed. I felt an arm wrap around me, and I gently was pulled closer to him, so that his body heat radiated against mine.
I put my head in his chest, and got lost in either my own thoughts, or the light circles against my back, the smell of his cologn, or maybe it was just everything. I thought I'd sworn to myself that this would never, ever happen. But I was so wrong.
