Encounter

"How did you find out?"

"I'm not stupid. I smelled you and that she-wolf. To think that you had more class than to beg for me then sleep with some other."

"..."
"Cat got your tongue?" Jake knew he could deny anything because it was true. Jake would come up to me at different times begging to get back together with me.

"Sapphire-" Jake was cut off by no other then Hunter.

"Hey- whoa, I just remembered I need to... Uh... Walk" Hunter went to leave awkwardly. Running quickly just to leave the tension swerving around the kitchen.

"You know what, I'm going to take a run too." I added quickly watching Hunter run away. "finish this? We wouldn't want a dirty kitchen, now do we?"

I walk towards the door, leaving a dumbfounded Jake in the kitchen.

I walk around the woods, smelling the wet ground, the trees rustling while the wind blew through the leaves.

"Sapphire!" A high pitched voice called to me. I turn to see a friend of mine, Katherine or Kathy as I preferred. We were friends since I've become Luna. You might call her a best friend but no, she was more of a sister to me.

"Kathy, so good to see you. How have you been?" I ask. It's been a crazy time since me and Kathy have hung out. With the whole Jake and Melissa problem, I just didn't talk to anyone but Hunter.

"Well you have been MIA for some time now. But I am happy to announce that I forgive you. Now we need to catch up."

No one knows about the whole Jake cheating on me. The pack still thinks we're the happy, happy couple we once were. "Kathy you should know why I was MIA."

"Jake cheated on me with Melissa"

"As in Melissa our friend Melissa? The one we've been best friends with?"

"That's the one. He did it on our own bed."

"That is shameful. Nice Alpha we have" Kathy said sarcastically.

"I know right."

I could see the sun shining bright from the window in the pack house. Kathy was sitting with me while a movie played but we didn't really pay attention to it. we were in our phones from time to time glancing at the movie.

"I'm so over this movie. Let's go out or something"

I was feeling very lazy today so when Kathy said 'get out' I really didn't want to.

"I'm so lazy right now. I don't want to do anything" I wined. "Maybe in like an hour we can do something. I'm going to take a nap."

It's almost 3 u barely slept last night so a nap sounded really good. "Fine I'm gonna take one too." She included herself.

I woke up with groggy eyes wanting to go back to sleep. I look over to see Kathy on her back laying down with her phone at hand texting smiling like the Cheshire Cat. I see her blush slightly "Kathy, who are you texting?"

She looked at me startled, nervously she put her phone down, not look at me I the eye and replied "no one. It was just my cousin." She was a terrible liar. I look at her sternly. She knows she can't hide it anymore. "Ok, ok, I'm texting my mshmsh"
She mumbled the ending of her sentence.

"Who?" I insisted not letting her get away with just a mumble.

"My mate." I shrieked, how could she not tell me. Us, being best friends need to tell each other everything. From fist times to mates to big ass movements, like moving from pack to pack, you know.

"How could you not tell me?" I asked sadly. "You were being distant and MIA remember" oh right, the time I found Jake cheating on me. The thought comes back and not voluntary.

"I'm sorry, you're right, I was MIA and distant."

"Now hurry I want to do something... Maybe bake a cake-" I cut Kathy off and smirk at her. "-or maybe meet your mate/lover"

Kathy blushes furiously, "not lover... yet" she blushes like a tomato. I laugh at her, then suddenly I get shoved off the couch.

"Ow, you ass. Now my ass hurts. Thanks" I say sarcastically.

"No problem you are a pain in MY ass" Kathy gives me a quick comeback.

"Whatever. Now let's meet that mate of yours. Is he hot?" I wiggle my eyebrows.

"Of course he's hot!" She yells like it's the most obvious thing in the world. I put my hands up in surrender. "I'm sorry I asked a question. Jeez women, calm your tits. Don't want them falling off before your mate can even see them."

Kathy blushes again. This time not as much but still really red. She has never-and I mean never blushes this often, ever.

Giving me a light punch on the arm, she walked away when her phone beeped.
"Is that your, oh so lovely mate?" I say dreamily. I look at Kathy and see her rolling her eyes at me, but still smiling knowing that it's him.

"Come on he wants to meet you, Sapph" Kathy turns to me after sending a quick text to her boy toy.
