In the calm waters of Awa'atlu two young Na'vi swam in the depths of the deep blue sea. Through coral and fish they swam, looking for pearls and seashells to put in their hair and decorate their clothes with. They signed with eachother to go back up for air, laughing as they emerged from the water.

Not too far away they heard a horn being blown- a sign of newcomers. "Tsireya let's go and see what's happening" one of the girls said. The other nodded and they called their ilu's and rushed off back to the shore.

                             --------

When they got to the centre of their village they saw the people of their clan gathered around what seemed to be a family- of six. They were not Metkayina though, instead they had a slender build, and deep blue skin unlike Metkayina who had more of a turquoise colour, almost a light green. Their tails were thin, which would not be useful in the sea, and they had deep yellow eyes, almost like honey.

N'aila looked at their clothes, the things they were made of and identified them as forest people, probably from the Omaticaya clan. She had heard of them, and their big part in defeating the Sky People. Of one called Toruk Makto.

Her and Tsireya made eye contact with the newcomers. What seemed to be the oldest boy looked at her with a sense of curiosity and wonder, they locked eyes, she looked away as he did too, looking a bit flustered. It seemed Tsireya had had a similar engagement with the other boy who smiled and mouthed a 'hi'. N'aila nudged Tsireya and smiled at her.

"Come on Tsireya, we can't get entagled with them".

"Oh come on don't worry the other boy likes you too, see he's staring". She looked over to see that in fact he really was looking at her intently, he looked away even more flustered than before and a light blush settled on the admirers' cheeks.

"Stop this nonsense, I don't like him, what do you mean? We don't even know what they're doing here. We haven't even spoken a word to eachother" she ranted.

"Sure" Tsireya smiled with a mischievous look in her eyes.

They turned their attention back to the crowd of people where their mother and father had just arrived and began talking to the newcomers.

It went silent as everyone listened to what the Tsahik and Olo'Eyktan had to say. Her father spoke first " Why do you come to us Jake Sully".

The man now revealed to be Jake Sully, Toruk Makto spoke. "We seek uturu, a sanctuary for my family".
"We are reef people, you are forest people. Your skills will be nothing here" their father said.

"We'll learn your ways, right?" Jake Sully said turning back to his wife, Neytiri for support.

Their mother had began circling the newcomers like a lion would its prey, wary of their arrival. She took Neytiri's tail, who stepped away, a look of anger on her face. "Their arms are thin. Their tails are weak" she said, grabbing  the oldest daughters tail, who took it back in protest. "You will be slow in the water ". She took the girls hand this time. "These children are not even true Na'vi!"

This followed with a series of disapproval and shock. N'aila looked at her sister who looked at the ground, a look of disappointment on her face. Ronal went to the boy who caught Tsireya's eye next. "They have demon blood!". The clan members exclaimed and took steps back.

"Tsireya...mother will never let anything happen between you and that boy" N'aila said.
"Stop acting like you haven't got eyes for the other one. Besides mother will accept them when she sees that they are decent people".
"Fine. Yeah you're right maybe I do, but just a little bit" N'aila whispered.

She turned back to see her mother and Neytiri having a dispute. "My husband was Toruk Makto" she hissed. "He led the clans to victory against the Sky People"

"This you call victory? Hiding amongst strangers? It seems Eywa has turned her back on you" Ronal said. It was obvious to N'aila that Neytiri clearly didn't want this, she understood her mothers point of view, but thought she should be a bit more welcoming.

After much dispute, Tonowari made his decision. " Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us. Treat them as out brothers and sisters. They do not know the sea, so they will be like babies taking their first breath. Teach them our ways so they do not suffer the shame of being useless". They all muttered a thanks.

"My daughters N'aila and Tsireya and son Aonung will help you settle in" said Tonowari. "Father why do I-" Aonung started, clearly not wanting to have to help the new people.

"This is decided" Tonowari said, cutting him off.

Tsireya was visibly excited as she took N'aila's hand and jumped forward to speak. " Follow us, my sister and I will show you our village".

The two sisters took lead and the new family followed behind them. The youngest jumped along the paths connecting all of the Marui, excited to see her new home. They finally got there and set their things down. "So, this will be your new home" N'aila said.

"It's nice isn't it" Jake said, but it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself. " Well, we'll leave you to settle in for a bit" Tsireya said.

" We'll be in the water for a while if you want to join us later" N'aila added. The kids nodded and smiled.
" Yeah we will".

Tsireya and N'aila left the Marui not before the latter looked back to see the boy called Neteyam already looking at her. She turned away quickly, and a light blush settled on her cheeks. " Look at you, already bonding with the newcomers" Tsireya said laughing.

" What about you Reya, I saw you and Lo'ak looking at eachother the whole time" N'aila replied, joining in.
"I'm not even going to deny" Tsireya laughed as they walked on the sand.
