You froze and stared blankly at your friend, who was clenching their heart, with their head lowered. Perhaps to hide the blush rising on his face. All the words escaped you as you started at your friend.
"Oh." That was all your mouth would allow to escape from its dry lips. You don't know why you couldn't get any words out, you knew this was going to happen soon.
Greg, someone who felt like a brother to you would nonstop mention your friends crush on you. This was going to happen, it only made sense. So, you had no idea why your brain was racking just to get a comprisable response. The shock you had felt for a moment fleeted away, much like most of any other emotions you felt.
Perhaps that's why you didn't feel anything for him. You lost something of yourself, and now it's going to hurt the first friend you remember making.
Your friend raised their head and his eyes met yours once again. "O-Oh?" He repeated your word confused. You blinked.
"I... do... no I... hm." How do you word that you have no emotional connection to this man in a polite way? "I'm sorry... but I do not reciprocate you feelings."
Your friends eyes watered and his head lowered again. "...oh."
You cringed at tears fell from your friend. "Hey! Please, don't cry! There are many others who are much better for you than I!" You had no idea why your words were coming out so professional, but it sounded cool, so you just rolled with it.

His silence was all you heard. The tears has came to a stop, that wasn't what you were expecting, but hey! This is a good sign-
"No..." Your friend trembled as he trailed off.

"No?" You repeated uncertain. "What do you mean?"
"Don't worry... I'll... WE'll... be together..."

Your friend looked up at you with a smile, one that was growing unnaturally wide. Fear creeped up your spine and you bit back the shiver you wanted to do.
"You won't leave my side..."
Oh that's NOT good.
You wrist was snatched in a painful grasp and you were yanked into your friends embrace.
"Forever... we will be together."
"Bud... Egh!" The rest of your sentence left you as a sharp pinch hit your neck. You eyes slowly fell despite your fighting of it. "...you..."
"We'll fall sleep together and be one. I hope you're ready..."
