Nova had woken in fright. A thin layer of cold sweat aligned her body. Her sudden actions caused the boy beside her to shift. Sensing the panicked girl beside him. Xavier's arm wrapped around her, trying to calm the girl.

"Nova, what happened love. What frightened you?"

Her nightmares weren't a sudden occurrence. They have been happening for weeks now, no explanation behind them. Her chest was heaving, the last few nights her nightmares had been the exact same image. over and over again. replaying through her mind.

This one was different, there was something about it that felt off. Everything was a blur, she couldn't identify a single object within the nightmare.

The only thing she had seemed to discover was the coffee shop in Jericho. The Weathervane.

Nova had been inside the Weathervane several times, but something had felt off about it now. Why had it been the one single place she was able to identify within her nightmare? She needed answers.

"Nothing, same old. Can we go to the Weathervane later? Get a coffee with Enid and Ajax?"

"I don't see why not, i'll check with Ajax later if you check with Enid."

"Of course."

Nova knew there was no point in falling back asleep, so she shot a text to her dear friend Enid and started getting ready.

====

Nova walked hand in hand with Xavier towards the small coffee shop, an excited Enid followed not far behind. Keeping conversation with Ajax as best she could. Nova had found out about her liking for the boy not long after her and Xavier got together.

She wanted her friend to be happy, therefore she tried her hardest to set them up. Although, Ajax was horrible at taking hints.

The bell rang, allowing the barista to know the arrival of the four Nevermore students. They were dressed out of uniform, they almost looked normal.

"What can I get for you guys?" The bored voice of a boy that looked to be their age spoke.

"Three hot chocolates and one Latte with extra cold foam please."

Nova just stared, the moment she walked into the coffee shop she felt that same sickly feeling she had felt that morning. She had never seen this boy working, it had to be him. Something about him.

Nova hadn't noticed she had stopped and focused her gaze on the boy until her friends were pulling her away, finding a table. The boy kept his eyes locked with hers. Only turning away to make the requested drinks.

He had walked over to the table, placing the drinks in the center. Watching as Nova pulled the latte to her lips, sipping it lightly.

The tension remained, neither knowing why. Nova felt something was off, she didn't want to pull her eyes off the boy in case something was to happen.

Before to long, the group had finished their drinks, paying the boy before walking out. Nova and Xavier hand in hand once again.

Nova could feel the harsh stare digging into her back as she left the coffee shop.

-

It was late in the evening, and the students had just gathered for dinner. Nova was in her room, staring at the hardwood floor. She had that sickly feeling in her stomach, she needed to talk to the barista.

She had mentally noted his nametag earlier. Tyler Galpin. Pulling her phone out of her jean pocket, searching his name on all social media. She requested to follow the boy on each and everyone. Desperate to learn more about him, and why she made him feel so sick.
