A few days had passed since Nova had last seen Tyler. She'd left him on delivered since that morning she left. It's not that she regretted any of their tactics. She just didn't want to get attached. Even though she's known the boy for only a week now, she felt a way that nobody has ever made her feel before.
It was now Saturday, the day of the Harvest Festival. Nova knew Tyler was going to be there, and hanging out with Wednesday. Therefore, she didn't want to go. However, Enid wasn't letting that slide, she promised Nova that nothing was going on between Wednesday and Tyler and that he hadn't texted Wednesday since that night.
After a lot of begging and reasoning, Nova caved. Here she was, sitting in her best friend's bedroom, watching as she picked out an outfit for herself. Nova was wearing a pair of jeans and a sweater, it was supposed to be chilly. Her hair was lightly curled and tucked behind her ears.
She watched as Wednesday paced around the room packing a small bag with things. Enid told Nova all about her plan to escape Nevermore at the Harvest Festival and the only reason Wednesday was hanging out with Tyler was so she could get a ride to the nearest train station.
Still it upset what Tyler and Wednesday had said over the phone. After a while Enid and Wednesday were ready. Nova followed after the pair, dreading the night ahead of her. When they arrived at the Festival, Wednesday started walking towards the spot her and Tyler agreed to meet while they were on the phone.
Wednesday stared at the boy who seemed to be arguing with his father, "are you sure we can trust your normie friend?" Nova and Enid stood beside Wednesday as they watched the boy argue with his dad, sheriff Galpin narrowed his eyes at Nova. A group of girls was waving Enid over, Enid said her goodbyes before abandoning Wednesday and Nova. The two looked around, seeing principal weems piercing eyes at them.
They walked over to some game, Wednesday popping balloons with darts like it was nothing. Suddenly a hand touched Nova's causing her to jerk around, seeing the boy she least expected to be talking to tonight. "Nova can we talk? I'm sorry about everything, I really want to get back together." "Why? So you can pull the same stunt as before?" "Nova why can't you just let that go?"
Tyler walked up, Xavier switching his gaze. "Didn't mean to interrupt." "You're not." Nova said. Xavier scoffed, walking away from the group. Tyler stared at Nova for a minute before turning to Wednesday, "This is going to be trickier than I thought. Dad hit me with a curfew. We need to go if I'm gonna make it back in time."
'We've got some dead weight we need to lose first." Wednesday looked at Nova motioning towards Weems. "Meet me behind the parking lot when the fireworks start." Tyler walked off. Wednesday pulled some trick to get rid of Weems, I do owe her. That was awfully nice.
Once we arrived at the parking lot, Tyler smiled at us. Particularly Wednesday. "Hey, before you leave, I wanted you to have this. It's your dads police file from when he was at Nevermore. I think its the reason my dad hates him." Wednesday scanned over the file. "You okay?" Tyler asked her. "I'm not used to people engaging with me. Most see me coming and cross the street." "You're not scary. You're just kinda...kooky." "I prefer spooky." "Oh." Tyler smiled at her.
This caused Nova to have a look of Jealousy etched across her face. "Now my train leaves in an hour, we're burning moonlight." Wednesday started walking off causing Tyler to look at Nova, seeing her sour look she held. Nova followed after Wednesday, Tyler after her.
A group of normies with baseball bats peared out the other side of the cars, causing Tyler to grab Wednesday and Nova's arms and start running. "We can lose them in the crowd." Nova jerked Tyler's hand away from her causing him to drop Wednesdays. They ran away from the boys causing Wednesday to knock into someone. She tripped, Tyler catching her mid fall. Wednesday's head flew back, and she was suddenly unresponsive.
Her head suddenly jerked back up, causing Tyler to help her stand up. She looked back at whoever she knocked into. Wednesday started chasing after the boy that ran into the woods. Leaving Nova and Tyler alone. Nova didn't spare Tyler another look before chasing after Wednesday, whatever reason she was chasing after Rowan for wasn't gonna be a good one.
Wednesday and Nova chased after Rowan, he was headed into the woods. One place Nova absolutely dreaded. "Rowan, wait." "What do you want? Why are you following me?" "I don't have time to explain but you're in danger." Rowan started laughing causing me to send a worried look towards Wednesday.
"I think you've got it backwards." Nova looked terrified as Rowan pushed both of the girls into the tree behind them, causing Nova to wince. "You're the ones in danger." "What are you doing?" "Saving everyone from you. I have to kill you. And Nova just so happens to be here as well." "The gargoyle, that was you?" "Yeah."
"It's always the quiet ones." Wednesday said, causing Nova to laugh a little. This angered Rowan causing him to start choking Nova with his powers as he showed Wednesday a paper. " The girl in the picture. That's you." "You want to kill me because of some picture? And you want to kill Nova because she was simply following me?" Nova began to choke, running out of air. "My mother drew that picture 25 years ago when she was a student at Nevermore. She was a powerful Seer. Told me about it before she died."
"Rowan put us down." "No! My mother said it was my destiny to stop this girl if she ever came to Nevermore, because she will destroy the school and everyone in it." Rowan had started choking Wednesday as well, the hold on Nova becoming more powerful. "Rowan." Wednesday repeated. Suddenly A growl was heard, as Wednesday and Nova dropped to the ground. The girls struggling to catch their breath.
Nova watched as the monster tore Rowan's body apart, splashing blood across his face. She knew exactly who it was, that only made it worse to watch. The monster made eye contact with Nova before running off into the woods. Nova stayed laid against the tree, trying to catch her breath as Wednesday crawled over to the boy.

Nova was back at Nevermore, packing her bag to go stay at Tylers again. She didn't ask the boy, she didn't have time. Nova had lost her phone earlier at the Festival and couldn't text the boy to let him know she was coming over. She just had to hope he was at his house.
When Nova arrived she climbed up the ladder and knocked on the window. Tyler walked over to his window, opening it so the girl could come in. Nova hugged Tyler's figure the second her feet hit the ground. If she was being honest with herself, she missed him.
Tyler picked Nova up by the back of her thighs and carried her over to his bed. He placed her down before walking over to lock the door and turn off the light. He took off her clothes before throwing her the t-shirt he had just taken off. Tyler had laid down beside the girl before pulling her into him. And there she laid once again, in his arms.
