"There you are sweet. Pack of Marlboro 100s, a lighter and a pepsi. Three dollars and sixty seven cents please." The male behind the counter informed me softly in a thick heavy accent. He was a nice guy and looked near my age, brown shoulder length hair and nice white smile, he worked at a shop just outside the airport where i had finally landed. I passed him the cash and grabbed my items swiftly heading out the door before grabbing a cigarette and lighting it up.
I walked down the busy streets in times square trying to find a taxi, or as the american say, a cab.
"Excuse me, excuse me! How much is a tax- i mean cab to here?" i questioned showing a man in a parked cab the address.
"six dollars." he said bluntly before i smiled and jumped straight in.
The ride was silent for the first few minutes until the driver narrowed his mirror towards me, suddenly widening his eyes.
"Oh my gosh. Your Michelle heaths!" he said in shock confused as to how he would know.
"Yeah i am?" i laughed, he was gorgeous. His hair feathered wonderfully above his shoulders with his minty green eyes.
"Your way more beautiful in real life then they say!" he laughed frantically as we pulled up at the curb. I passed him the change from my red leather biba purse Roger had bought me.
"Jason Webb." he said turning around interlocking our eyes. A wave of butterflies washed over me before i cleared my throat remembering i had a boyfriend.
I turned away opening the taxi door before lighting a cigarette and looking through the window at the boy.
"I like that name." i laughed before walking off into the hotel.
It was gorgeous, massive chandeliers, spires on the outside, covered in amazing patterns honestly i was so shocked. I dragged my suitcase to the front desk to check in and grab my key as i headed into my room. It was huge, of course though diving straight into the bed was my first choice. All i could think about was Roger. I already missed him so much i decided to dial their tour managers to see when they would get into America.
"Hi?" the dial rung
"Hello who is this please?" a woman asked
"It's Michelle." i replied
"Hmm? Michelle? I don't know sorry?" a scouse accent questioned herself before the phone rustled and a familiar voice was heard.
"Elle! Are u okay? How was ya flight love?" the drummer frantically asked.
"Good. I miss you so much when are you gonna get here?" i whined.
"Tomorrow. I'm coming straight to you. I've got to go and finish packing i love you." Roger laughed clearly excited about the change of plan. He most definitely had to convince everyone else which also made me giggle slightly at the thought of him pleading freddie to change the flight dates. It was currently 4.35pm in NYC a long Wednesday afternoon. My first shoot was on Friday giving me a day with John, Fred, Bri and Roger. Although i was currently quite bored i decided i could spend and hour or so exploring round in the city.
I found myself wondering on the streets before i came to a halt. A huge diner which appeared to be themed around music more specifically rock music. I could see through the window a guitar of Jimi Hendrix hung on to the wall next to one of The Beatles bass'. I thought to myself that i could probably go in and buy a milkshake so i walked through the door instantly being hit with the smell of cooked goods. I browsed on the menu and settled on a vanilla milkshake as i sat on a stool at the counter waiting for a server.
"Michelle.. We meet again what can i get you girl?" a familiar voice laughed as he swung his head round it appeared to be the the taxi driver.
"Oh hello. Jason right?" i laughed nervously pointing with my finger.
"That's me. What can i get ya?" he asked again as he wiped the side i front of him.
"Vanilla milkshake that's it." i replied.
"is this your first time in new york?" he asked me as i nodded in reply.
"Well then you can have a shake for free then how about that? A little something for your first time here." Jason said as he began to make the milkshake. I couldn't stop staring at his eyes before he quickly whipped the shake in front of me topping it with a cherry and sticking a straw in it. I took a sip and i'm all honesty it was probably the best milkshake i've had.
"Cheers. I'll remember this." i laughed as he laughed back.
