Tord Headcanons

So. Uh. People might've noticed my massive Tord bias— so here are HCs specifically for Tord. Some of this is also me projecting onto him bc he's a comfort character of mine.

...Also I'm too lazy to come up with a real chapter. I might do this with the other guys too but it depends. Also also, this takes place in a universe where "The End" didn't happen. Because fuck "The End" and how it ruined Tord's character, don't even get me started on my 20K word essay—

• 5'10" with his horns considered

• Lean, with slight muscle build-up due to working on machinery. Hovers between an average weight and being underweight, mostly due to the fact that he forgets to eat when engrossed in a project. Hands are scarred to hell, calloused, and rough. Long legs. Has freckles, but hides them with concealer.

• Has the gap in his teeth due to getting one tooth knocked out as a child. The tooth grew back in, but improperly, leaving the gap. Doesn't really care about it unless people point it out; specifically, when his friends point out that he whistles in his sleep because of the gap. It embarrasses him greatly.

• Tord's hair is naturally a dark brown, but when he got older, began to dye it a lighter shade. His darker hair reminds him of his father and he absolutely despises that fact. Unless he's working on a long form project (one that spans over months) his hair will be dyed consistently. During these long form projects his hair often returns to a darker shade of brown at the roots.

• Tord's silver eyes were received from his mother. It's one of the only features he didn't get from his father.

• Has both ADHD and Depression. He's had ADHD since he was a child and was formerly diagnosed with Depression after going no contact with his family. It's likely due to the neglect he faced and the abuse he received while growing up.

• Doesn't use stim toys, except for a spinner ring and playing with spare change. He got the ring from Edd when he noticed that Tord would often lean towards chewing his nails when working. As for the spare change, Tord simply plays with it due to it being a habit. He'd always mess around with change in his pockets while in primary school and when forced to attend meetings or formal events with his father and mother.

• Forgets to eat frequently, as well as sleep. He sleeps the least out of the entire gang, getting a maximum of ten hours over a week. Tord only ever eats when someone reminds him. He wound up drastically underweight when he first left the gang, as he kept forgetting to have balanced meals and only consumed energy drinks and protein shakes. He's since set three alarms to go off whenever he needs to eat something or take a break.

• Uses generic 2-in-1 shampoo. Can't be bothered to commit to a facial routine, beyond using concealer if his freckles are seemingly more prominent. Had really bad breakouts in high school that were only curbed when Matt kept bugging him about washing his face and gifting him beauty products.

• Primarily smells like a mix of gunpowder, copper, and nicotine. Occasionally, he'll also smell of cinnamon candy.

• His fashion sense consists of aesthetic shirts with Japanese text and sweatpants. Tord only ever wears jeans and his hoodie when going out somewhere. If he's working, he'll throw on old shirts or tank tops that he can stand to get dirty.

• Can cook very well, due to the aforementioned neglect by his parents. He essentially had to raise himself most of the time, so he knows how to cook and bake, along with knowing how to sew and repair household objects. It kept him busy.

• Whenever he gets extremely frustrated, Tord will switch to Norwegian. He won't even realize he's speaking his native tongue until someone points out that they can't understand him, in which he'll switch back to English and repeat his grievances.

• Has a tattoo. It was received when Tord turned 18 and got so drunk, Tom was able to convince him to go to the tattoo parlor across the street. He wound up with a tramp stamp. Thankfully, it wasn't something totally embarrassing — just a scrawl that looks like the font for a metal band. He's thinking of getting more.

• Big fan of chocolate. Tord loves all flavors, but has a bias for dark chocolate, as he enjoys the bitter aftertaste. He's the type of guy that would import gourmet chocolates from Switzerland and does so every Christmas. When it comes to fillings, he likes caramel and those that come with liquor.

• The Red Army is a family business. It's been run by his father's side of the family for generations. Every male heir is expected to take over at some point and is trained to do so — they attend top military academies, receive expert combat training, lessons on all forms of politics, and various other necessities for running the army. Tord absolutely despised it.

• Both his mother and father were so focused on him becoming the next leader of the Red Army that they neglected to really raise him. He never got to play with children his own age and the only children he could interact with was those hand-picked by his father, often the children of allies. Tord never got to celebrate his birthday or holidays, unless his mother was throwing a party on those days. It was all for show.

• Tord dislikes his father more than his mother, but he hates both of them. His father was the one who pressured him to be perfect and if Tord failed, he often received physical punishment. His mother was more likely to berate him mentally and emotionally, such as whenever he cried as a child. Once puberty hit, Tord went rogue and fought against everything his parents did.

• Making friends with Edd, Matt, and Tom was the best thing Tord ever experienced. It was the most free he felt in his entire life and having people that actually cared for him and who he was kept him going. It was actually Tom who suggested that Tord go no-contact with his parents and disappear.

• Despite the rumors, Tom and Tord don't exactly hate each other. They're simply rivals and act more as frenemies. The relationship did become strained when Tord initially left the gang, however.

• The anime nerd that goes to see anime movies in theaters when they have limited showings.

• Doesn't usually drink except on special occasions, like celebrating someone's birthday or engagement. He doesn't really see it as a necessity. He does, however, smoke daily. It's often flavored cigarettes, but he also smokes fancy cigars.

• Surprisingly susceptible to flirting. Tord is secretly a hopeless romantic and craves affection. However, he has a habit of falling for women and men who regularly use him, which has made him extremely cautious since becoming an adult.

• Spent a good chunk of his high school years invested in Japanese MMOs to a point he would be the highest leveled player on the server. It was a form of escapism and he got to make his character into a cute cat girl with a machine gun. What more could a teenage boy want?

• Listens to metal of all kinds, but the most common is Black Metal and Japanese Metal. It's not uncommon to see him with his earbuds in and listening to an album while working. Despite his genre bias, he does listen to Rock, Grunge, and Alternative.

• Reads the most out of the guys. Before Edd, Tom, and Matt, Tord only really had books as friends. His favorite are fantasy and sci-fi novels in the vein of Lord of the Rings, Discworld, and Dune.

• Can and has spent hours watching restoration videos since they satisfy his ADHD. Even if they're fake it's exceptionally relaxing.

• Loves collecting cute things. From stickers, to stationary, to blind boxes, he's a bit obsessed. Walking into his room feels like a paradox since half of the contents look like they belong to a national security threat and the other half should be in a Japanese V-Tuber stream layout.

• Other than knowing English and Norwegian, Tord also knows some Polish and Dutch, thanks to Pau and Pat. He also knows some Japanese, but only due to self-interest and trying to read untranslated manga scans.
