3rd pov:
"What do you mean son?" A wave of dread thrashed in Jake's heart, it's only been five years this time, last time he almost lost his eldest son, they almost took a part of his soul, his first child, your first will always hold a special place in your heart, even if you love all the others the same, your first represents the beginning of your family, they are the beginning of your family, Neteyam is the glue, without him, this family would have fallen apart, especially Lo'ak.
Ever since the incident, Lo'ak has grown up a lot, he's learnt his actions have consequences and that if he want to take risks, he can't expect others to join in, he's learnt his brother will always try to protect him, and his family will follow wherever he goes, he can't be so irresponsible or self-orientated.
It felt peaceful again, and the possibility the Skypeople could ruin it, it boiled Jake's blood and made him want to burst into tears at the same time.
When will it be enough, when will they stop?
"The Skypeople, I was hunting on my Ikran and I saw them land, beyond the mountains about 50km north of the Kanako clan." The future chief said breathlessly.
"So close to a clan? We must warn them."
"They probably already know, father I propose we meet with the Kokoam, the chief, and devise a plan, we have learnt we cannot run, this time, we should be on the attack, we cannot afford to lose or damage anymore of our land or our people. Last time, before we hid in the Metakayina, we had the upper hand, the Kanako clan are the greatest warriors our planet have to offer, we can call upon the Metakayina too now we are brothers and you know, Lo'ak and Tsireya. We can hit them so hard this time, they won't come back." Neteyam's eyes burned with revenge and determination, he was sick of these aliens, never coming in peace, only brining death and war. He just got his home back, his family, he found the girl of his (literal) dreams, it felt like everything was finally falling into place and now he could lose it, everything because of these damn humans trying to kill another planet.
"Son...we already almost lost you..."
"That's because we acted like cowards, and if I die killing the last of these invaders I will die a happy man."
"...ok. Tell Lo'ak to call Tsireya, tell them to bring their whole clan, I will gather the Omaticaya, we will leave by sunset to travel to the mountains, the Metakayina should be able to arrive within a few days, they have lakes up the mountains, it should be enough for now." Jake left to inform Neytiri of the news and ready the clan to travel, in his head he was trying to figure out a way to butter up a guy who supposedly had not a shred of mercy and despised outsiders, how the hell was he meant to get this guy to work with him.
Meanwhile Neteyam was with his siblings, helping them pack.
"Pack lightly, we'll be back, and they'll have all the essentials there, just take any must have personal items, we don't know how long we may be there." He rushed through the youngest's room, putting things in a little satchel for Tuk whilst he spoke to his siblings.
"We don't even know if we'll be staying there at all, you do realise Kokoam is notorious for killing anyone who steps foot on a mountain of his." Lo'ak butted in. "I called Tsireya but she said her father agrees with me, the Kanako are not welcoming and they're pretty arrogant, they'll wanna take on the Skypeople by themselves."
"Are they coming or not?"
"Well yeah..."
"Good, leave the convincing to Dad and I, it's just important you guys do as I say," Neteyam took a deep breath, momentarily stopping his rush and looking at his siblings, "and I mean it when I say behave, especially if we're allowed in, one slip up, even from the child of an Olu'ektan, Toruk Macto, Jake fucking Sully, Kokoam Kanako will have your head with no remorse, and yes Tuk, including you. But Lo'ak, I mean it." Neteyam pointed his finger at his younger brother who swatted it away.
