Chapter 7: Can you keep a secret?

3rd pov:

It had been 2 weeks since the Omaticaya had arrived at the Kanako clan, on the second day, Kolanan and her father met with the Sully parents and their eldest son to discuss plans going forward, the two of them were to form a tight alliance including the Metakayina when they arrived and would work to slowly and stealthily weaken the human forces.

On the fifth day, the Metakayina arrived, and much to Neteyam's disgust, Aonung, the eldest son of Rolan and Tonowari, had immediately taken quite the liking to Kolanan.

And of course, if it meant making Neteyam a bit jealous and piss him off when she wanted, Kolanan was all for giving a little flirt back.

These past two weeks for Aonung's annoying ass had really driven him up the wall, so it was no surprise when right before they were about to go to bed, Neteyam practically exploded from built up frustration.

"You know it makes me mad, I don't understand why you entertain him, he's an idiot, I thought you hated those!" Neteyam complained, standing behind Kolanan who was busy wringing her hair out from the bath and wearing an amused expression. Especially each time Neteyam threw his hands in the air, that was too hard to not crack a smile at.

"Well, maybe he's a cute idiot." She teased, winding him up a bit more.

"CUTE?! HIS EYES ARE FURTHER APART THAN LO'AK'S EARS AND YOU'RE CALLING HIM CUTE? I'M WAY 'CUTER' THAN HIM, RIGHT?" His confidence fell short at her unwavering expression as she busied herself with her hair.

"hmmm."

"HMMM? HMMM?! WHA- you don't actually think he's cuter than me, do you? Because if you do that would mean you think I'm uglier than a sea cucumber."

Kolanan looked at Neteyam through the reflection of the mirror "And what if I did?"

"do you like him?" But this time Neteyam's tone was a bit deflated and Kolanan knew it was time to stop the joke, turning around and standing up she walked to Neteyam, holding his face in her hands before delicately pressing her lips to his.

"I'm joking Neteyam, I wouldn't bother with you if I did like him, and you are correct, he is a stuck up asshole, and  in no way do I think he's hot, especially not hotter than you. Even though I hate inflating your ego, you're the best looking guy I've ever seen, every girl in my tribe has been talking about you. I feel lucky it's me you fell for."

"How could I not? Look at you. But you really don't like Aonung?" Neteyam checked.

"Oh my Eywa no, I think I would need to see the Tsahik if I did, he's unbearable, I just flirt with him a little because I like to see you jealous, you look sexy when you're angry." Kolanan smiled, adding in the last comment for extra reassurance.

And it worked considering how flustered Neteyam got, "Ok ok, I believe you."

"Good, now, come with me pretty boy, I want to show you something."

"Hm?"

"I thought you deserved to see it since it is what helped me save you, and connected us in the first place." She dragged him along, out of her house and down the path she knew too well.

"Are you sure we're not gonna get lost, there are so many turns." Neteyam spoke with concern lacing his voice.

"Yes I'm sure, I've been down this path since I was 8, immediately after I found out my mother died I ran off into the mountains and somehow I found this cave." She stopped, gesturing to a tiny crawlspace.

"That's not a cave that's a crack." Neteyam raised his eyebrows sassily at her.

"Stop with the sassy man invasion and get your ass through that crawlspace." She pushed him forward, tutting at his attitude.
