Good God, Y'all!

They had failed to stop the Apocalypse.

Lucifer was free, and so many things were happening all at once, more than some would say that they could handle.

I couldn't find Sam or Dean anymore. They must have been warded.

But I could find Castiel, tracking him to a St. Martin's Hospital, walking down the hall toward Castiel, Sam and Dean in the hall.

Castiel saw me, surprised, slightly concerned. "Octavia. How did you find us? They're warded."

"But you're not," I told him.

"You tracked me?" Castiel asked.

"I'm not here to fight you, Castiel," I told him.

"Then why are you here?" Castiel asked.

I exhaled deeply. "Heaven's Angels believe that I have been as compromised as you have been. In some ways I have, I admit that. But they're wanting me to prove my obedience."

"Is that right?" Dean asked. "And what is that? Killing us?"

I rolled my eyes. "I let you go, didn't I?" Dean thought about that for a moment, looking away. "They just want me to do one thing. They don't care how I do it. They just want me to do it."

Sam opened his mouth to speak.

Bobby Singer was in his hospital room, sitting in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down. "Enough foreplay." We looked toward him. "One of you get over here and lay your damn hands on." No one moved or reacted. Bobby looked over his shoulder to look at Castiel and me. "Get healing. Now."

"I can't," Castiel told him.

Bobby turned to face us. "Say again?"

Castiel walked toward Bobby. "I'm cut off from Heaven and much of Heaven's power. Certain things I can do. Certain things I can't."

Bobby looked at me. "Then you do it. Don't matter if I know you or trust you or not. I want my legs back."

I sighed. "Part of me proving myself to the Angels of my obedience is doing the task that they have given me is without most of my powers."

"You're telling me you both lost your mojo just in time to get me stuck in this trap the rest of my life?" Bobby asked.

"I'm sorry," Castiel told him.

"Shove it up your ass," Bobby told us, turning back to the window.

Dean looked at Sam. "At least he's talking now."

Sam gave Dean a look.

"I heard that," Bobby told him.

Sam looked at me. "What did you mean you have to prove your obedience? What's this task that the Angels gave you? If it's not to find us or kill us or take us to them, then what is it?"

"I have to find someone," I told them.

"That should be easy enough," Sam told me. "You found Cas."

I scoffed, looking away. "As if it will be that easy."

"Who do you have to find?" Castiel asked.

"The one who resurrected you," I answered. I looked at Sam and Dean. "The one that put you two on that airplane. The one who began everything. God." Sam and Dean looked skeptical. Castiel seemed surprised and confused. "I have to find God."

Dean closed the hospital room door, looking at me. "God?"

"Yes," I answered.

"God?" Dean repeated.

"Yes," I repeated in annoyance. "He isn't in Heaven. He has to be somewhere."

"Try New Mexico," Dean told me. "I hear He's on a tortilla."

I shook my head. "No, He's not on any flatbread."

"Listen, Ariel, even if there is a God, He is either dead—and that's the generous theory—" Dean started.

"He is out there, Dean," I told him.

Dean continued. "Or He's up and kicking and doesn't give a rat's ass about any of us." I glared at him. "I mean, look around you, Octavia. The world is in the toilet. We are literally at the end of days here, and He's off somewhere drinking booze out of a coconut. All right? And don't with the whole 'orders are orders' crap, okay? They're just something that can keep you warm at night when you go to bed."

"I don't sleep," I told him.

Dean rolled his eyes. "Whatever. The Angels want you to find this guy to prove your loyalty because they know that you won't be able to do it, no matter how hard you try. They're jerking you around. Please tell me that you know that."

I stepped closer to Dean. "Angels have been killed repeatedly since the day you got out of Hell. My siblings. I considered disobedience. I let you go, which is nearly rebelling in some eyes, and now I have to prove that I am still with them, or I will be put to death. And I did it, all of it, to try to help you stop the beginning of the end, and you failed. You and your brother destroyed the world." Sam looked down. "And everything is going to end, for nothing. So keep your opinions to yourself."

"You didn't drop in just to tear us a new hole," Castiel told me. "You're risking everything just being here. Unless you're allowed to be here long enough to get what you need." I looked at Castiel. Castiel nodded knowingly. "What is it you want?"

"I did come for something," I told them. "An amulet."

"An amulet?" Bobby repeated. "What kind?"

"Very rare," I told them. "Very powerful. It burns hot in God's presence. It'll help me find him."

"A God EMF?" Sam asked.

I nodded.

"Well, I don't know what you're talking about," Bobby told me. "I got nothing like that."

"I know you don't," I told him. I looked at Dean. "The amulet is why I'm allowed to be here."

I looked at the amulet around Dean's neck.

Dean looked from the amulet to me. "What? This?"

"May I borrow it?" I asked.

"No," Dean answered.

"Dean," I told him. "Give it to me."

Dean realized I was serious, hesitating, sighing, giving in, pulling it off. "All right, I guess." He held it toward me. "I'm only doing this 'cause your ass is on the line, and you let us go." I tried to take the amulet. Dean took it out of my reach. "Don't lose it." I rolled my eyes, taking the amulet. "Great. Now I feel naked."

I looked at Castiel. "I'll be in touch."

Castiel nodded.

I disappeared, hearing Bobby call after me. "When you find God, tell him to send legs!"

If I had to interact with them to find God, then I would at least be very careful about what I did.
