chapter 4: all hail the heir

~呪術廻戦~

"Sayuri, you gotta keep up! You'll get lost in the crowd if not!"

Gojo yelled back with a laugh toward the agitated woman walking silently behind him. He glanced behind him to see her crossed arms and sharp glare following his movement. It was amusing to see how fed up she was while falling behind in the crowd of people who filled the mall outlet. His cerulean eyes twinkled at the sight of her foaming cursed energy that spilled ever so lightly. It was the only indication that her irritation was not overwhelming anger.

Throughout years of observing the Koki heir, signs of fury became transparent and visible through the movement of her curse energy. His true amusement bubbled at the sight of it splashing the grounds around her after overfilling her body and will. But the cost was the way the darkness slowly but surely burned her soft skin.

Sayuri learned how to control the movement far better when she was in a solid state for obvious reasons. But somewhere deep down Satoru felt it was his fault she struggled.

The way he persuaded her to reject the elders' teachings and classes. He had good intentions but good intentions still have consequences all the same...

"If I get lost, I will blow this entire mall to the fucking sky." Her seething tone lit the smile on his face brighter than before. Sayuri's temperamental nature was always amusing to Satoru. It was even funnier when it was accompanied by threats spilling from her pink lips.

Sayuri was angry enough to threaten innocent people's lives with the promise of destruction. Though her rage was funny, he believed the venom that dripped from her teeth was honest and genuine.

"Now princess, that is not very nice of you. It is not everyone else's fault you have social anxiety."

Her lilac icy glare and the sound of her tongue clicking were an immediate reaction to the words. His words made her feel like she appeared weak. Anxiety is for cowards and Sayuri Koki has never been a coward. She was thrilled to prove otherwise.

"Who exactly are you fucking talking to?" The hissed words left her lips as she sped her strides significantly. Fueled with her irritation, her steps increased but her awareness that Gojo's did not change with her did not settle in.

I don't care how strong he is, he'll hit the ground before I'm disrespected.

Lavender eyes widened before glaring daggers into Gojo's soul.

Sayuri slammed into Gojo's back nose first causing the two to stumble. Gojo's body swiveled around for his arms to catch her, expecting Sayuri to be clumsy. Long fingers wrapping around her small wrists while tugging her forward causing the scent of berries and vanilla to shoot up his nose.

Staring down expectedly at the shocked lilac eyes looking back up at him, he smiled at the frazzled Koki. It was rare to catch her off guard and vulnerable.

"I'm talking to someone who has social anxiety around crowds because Little Miss Unfortunate rarely leaves home. If you are that scared to get lost, I would not mind holding your little hand, silly Princess Sayuri." A bright crooked smirk laced his face as Gojo never broke gaze with the lavender daggers that assaulted him. Holding the heiress by her forearms so close to his body, he could feel the warmth of her skin through her dark blouse. The sound of footsteps walking around the two became dull claps and shuffles in his ears as he focused on the Koki in front of him. Her sharp lilac eyes while her nose flared angrily were oddly endearing to him. Though she appeared as if she would breathe fire at that moment, he did not break his crystal gleaming stare. The gentle pink flush on her cheeks made him feel soft and pleased with the fact he had flustered the ice princess.
