Chapter 1: Where did I go wrong..?

"I can't wear this?!" Rimuru shrieked as he looked at himself in the mirror. It was a peaceful day in Tempest and Rimuru, and his subordinates (family) were trying to role-playing some characters from the sacred texts (manga).

"You look so pretty, bestie!" Milim shouted as she cooed at her best friend. Currently, they were dressing Rimuru up in a sailor moon outfit.

"Fufufu, Rimuru-Sama is the perfect waifu." Diablo added to which Rimuru turned an even darker shade of crimson.

"You should wear this to the tournament! Whahaha!" Veldora said as Ramiris and Shion nodded eagerly.

"Absolutely not! I'm going to change!" Rimuru said as he shifted to his slime form. The demon lords laughed as Rimuru's subordinates seemed disappointed. Rimuru spat out the sailor moon outfit and went back to his normal clothing as he shifted to his human form.

"That's more like it!" Rimuru said in relief. They were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Rimuru-sama, the tournament is about to begin." Souei reported to the slime. Rimuru nodded and left with his friends following behind him. The group arrived at the stadium and sat down, ready to enjoy the match.

"Alright, is everybody ready for the final match?!" Souka shouted as the crowd erupted into cheers.

"Indeed! The final match is between Tempest's strongest! One of our contenders can take down an army of orcs with a single hit of his flame. It's none other than Tempest's general, Benimaru!" Souka announced as Benimaru entered the arena. Many cheered as he stood at one side of the arena.

"Our next contender is a demon who can stop time. He is able to take down several angels and has existed for many centuries. Please welcome, one of Rimuru-sama's secretaries, Diablo!" Souka announced once more as the people cheered. Diablo gave a short bow toward Rimuru and faced Benimaru.

"I look forward to our fight, Benimaru." Diablo said to his opponent.

"As will I." Benimaru replied as he readied his stance.

"Ready.." Souka said, adding to the anticipation. Rimuru felt that something bad was about to happen.

"Set.." Rimuru frantically looked around for the threat. He noticed no one else seemed to notice.

"Go!" Rimuru's eyes widened as he felt it.

"Stop!" He shouted as he casted the strongest barrier he could muster. A powerful beam erupted from the slime as a giant dome covered the whole country of tempest. Everyone was confused at first until...

BOOM!

Something hit the barrier...

"What was that?" Milim asked as she looked at the sudden attack. It took everyone a while to realize that the ones attacking them were none other than... ANGELS?!

"Angels!" Veldora shouted as everyone was thrown into a state of panic. Rimuru, who was still holding the dome steady, quickly turned to his friends.

"Get everyone to safety! Benimaru, attack those who are getting near the barrier. Gerudo, protect tempest! The rest of you will fight with me!" Rimuru ordered as everyone quickly got to work.

"Shuna, Myulan, can you two help me hold the barrier?" Rimuru asked as the queen and ogre princess nodded.

"I will stay behind and defend them." Youm said as Rimuru nodded. Rimuru quickly flew up and out of the barrier to attack the angels with Veldora, Milim, Diablo, and Gabiru, and his army followed. The rest of Rimuru's subordinates readied themselves at the ground.
