Luz Comes Back!

Pieces of the Human Realm

Luz Pov:

After hanging out with everyone I had gone with Willow to the market. As I had expected, things had changed a lot since the last time I had been here, a lot more human 'oddities' were at Eda's stand as we got there.
"Hey Kiddo, miss me already and decide to come back?" Eda asked us as we walked up to the stand.
Willow piped up, "We just got done hanging out at the cafe, it was Luz's first time seeing her crush after four years~"
King jumped up onto the counter, "Ooh, spill! Who is it!" He started stomping his feet as he pointed at me, 'demanding' an answer.
I immediately started turning red as this happened, why did Willow have to say this in front of King and Eda? "Oh it's nothing King don't worry about it," I said as I picked him up from under the arms and pulled him close then spun around.
Eda didn't seem to be bothered by the distraction I tried to make, instead asking, "Oh c'mon you know you can tell me Luz! Have I ever let you down before? I might even be able to help~"
This reminded me so much of high school when the girls were all talking about their crushes, promising not to share each others' secret. They would always invite me to their sleepovers and try and find out if I had a crush but it wasn't successful. They had always told everyone about their friends crushes so even if I had feelings for anyone other than Amity it wasn't like I'd've shared shared my crush with them.
"Maybe later Eda, not in front of the King of Cuteness," I said as I started tickling King, who then proceeded to push himself off of me and jump onto the counter of the stand.
"I AM NOT THE KING OF CUTENESS!!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, a white ring coming out and expanding, causing me to jump back.
"Oh no I forgot to tell you! King is a... Get closer," she said before I then got closer to her. "King is a Titan!" She whispered in my ear, surprising me quite a bit.
"No way!" I shouted  as I held my hands to my cheeks as I looked at King, "That's what this cutie wutie is?"
King jumped up and down, stomping with both feet, "I am not a cutie wutie!"
"Alright then King, I guess you've grown up a bit now," I said as I rubbed his head, the feeling familiar despite being so long gone...
Eda must've noticed that I seemed a tiny bit down right then and changed the subject, "So human, guess what we have here now? I'll give you a hint; It's something from the human realm and someone you like has one~"
I was a bit confused by this, but decided to guess anyways, "Hmm, TVs?"
"Not what I was referring to but yes! It's so amazing! Now it's not just those boxy ones but it's also the big screens! But what I was referring to was, drumroll please," Eda said, to which Willow grabbed two batteries and tapped them on the counter. "We have cats here now Luz!"
I lit up, my face was bright with happiness as I grabbed onto the counter and looked around for it, "Where is this little kitty? I've gotta see it!"
Willow and Eda both laughed a bit before Willow decided to tell me who actually had the cat(s). "Luz, it's not Eda who has one, and it's not Boscha or I either, and it's not Gus, that leaves only one person, can you guess who?"
I thought over it for a second before then pulling my beanie down over my face, "Willow! Why do you guys have to tease me so much?"
Willow and Eda laughed again before Willow spoke up again, "Oh yeah and I have some human pets too."
I took the beanie off my head before looking to her asking, "What are they?"
She gave me an answer that I wasn't expecting, one of them being a normal human pet but the others not so much. "Well Boscha and I have a golden retriever, an owl, and a panda!"
I looked at her, noticeably more confused as she said the last one, "Willow, how do you have a panda, more importantly, what does it eat?"
"Oh it eats bamboo just like it would in the human realm. I cultivated a large bamboo farm a bit further out on the countryside for it." She had a bright smile on her face as she told me this, very proud of her achievement.
"Oh wow, that's amazing! You've gotta take me there to see it!" I said, my face clearly showing just how happy the panda made me.

It was later on in the day now, I had gone back to the owl house after finding a cool necklace that was a turquoise color, hoping to give it to Amity soon. It had been years since I had seen her but she still makes my heart flutter and I couldn't help but want to find something as pretty as her to give to her. It wasn't like I was going to give it to her anytime soon though, she probably doesn't even like m-
Buzz buzz
I looked over at the nightstand next to my bed and grabbed the scroll Eda had gotten me and saw a message from Willow.
"Hey Luz! It's me Willow! Just figured I should give you everyone's numbers;
Gus: ***-***-****
Your gf: ***-***-****
Boscha: ***-***-****
Emira: ***-***-****
Edric: ***-***-****
Eda: ***-***-****"
"Thanks Willow :)" I sent, then realized something in one of the names, "Hey! Why'd ya gotta tease me like that again Willow? You know I like her" I giggled after I sent this, her teasing me was pretty funny as long as there wasn't other people around to see it happening.
"You mean you love her~ ooooohhhhh~. But all jokes aside, she likes you too Luz, she was really upset when you left and she had your pictures all in her locker and her pensta was filled with the photos she had taken of you two. She even mentioned you during her valedictorian speech 😐"
I read this and I was pretty shocked, although I was still in disbelief, "Nonono that's just cause we were good friends." I mean, there's no way she would still have feelings for me after this long anyways, even if she did like me in the past...
"Girl, you are some other level of oblivious, one night we'll all have to hang out together and I can set you two up 🥰"
She is being extremely nice but honestly, I know I'm not worth the trouble. "No Willow it's alright, you don't have to do anything like that, really 😅"
"Alright fine, guess I'll have Boscha do it. But anyways, did you love all the stuff from the human realm? The Boiling Isles looks a lot nicer huh?"
"It does look a lot more like the human realm, it's even better than home though, after all I get to be around you guys all the time!" It hurt me to say this, knowing my mom wouldn't ever be able to come here but I was able to see everyone here so it did have that.
